T-Congress men to fight in Delhi
With the Telangana employees withdrawing their agitation, the T-Congress leaders are looking towards the Congress central leadership for its stand on the statehood issue. However, the leaders are clueless about the party’s stand.
“We only see newspaper reports claiming that the Congress is going to announce its stand in November, before the beginning of Parliament’s Winter Session, but so far there is no confirmation from party leaders about this,” said the AICC secretary and Congress MLC, Mr P. Sudhakara Reddy.
When this newspaper contacted several Telangana Congress MPs, ministers and MLAs, no one was sure of the timing of an announcement on Telangana. Opinions are divided among Telangana Congress leaders on the party’s stand on whether there is going to be a Telangana state or continuation of a united state.
Meanwhile, the first time Telangana Congress MLAs have decided a follow a two-pronged strategy aimed at not putting the party’s government at risk. They want to continue their “struggle” for Telangana by continuing consultations with party central leaders in Delhi and fight for developmental and welfare projects in their constituency so that no problems are created for the electorate.
The Medchal MLA, Mr Kittchennagari Laxma Reddy, said that there is no use in fighting in the state on a subject which has to be addressed by Delhi and there is no meaning in not serving the public of their constituencies.
“So we have evolved a slogan, fight for Telangana in Delhi, and fight for projects in constituencies,” he said. He said very soon all the Telangana MLAs and MLCs will sit together and meet both central and state leaders in this regard.
