Jagan is also a telangana traitor like YSR: Etela

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader in Assembly, Mr Etela Rajender, on Thursday accused the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, being a “Telangana traitor” like his late father and chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Rajender said that there was no connection between Mr Jagan and the people of the Telangana region. Even if Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy or his god-fathers had canvassed during the just concluded elections, the people of the region would not have voted for both the ruling Congress and Telugu Desam party candidates, he said and ridiculed that the so-called “Odarpu Yatra” and other issues were utter trash.

The TRS leader also lashed out at the Telugu Desam party president, Mr N Chandrababu, for talking North Telangana and South Telangana like a mentally deranged person.

Pointing out that no person from Telangana region had ever been appointed chairman of the Higher Education Council after it came into being 22 years ago, Mr Rajender dubbed the tenure extension of Mr K C Reddy as atrocious. He demanded that the government at least now appoint an eligible Telangana person in the post.

The saga of Telangana By-election victory

The people of Telangana showed their will in the by-elections. It was a resounding victory for separate statehood demand of Telangana people. They have thoroughly trounced Congress Party and shown the exit door to TDP from Telangana. It was the righteous anger expressed by the people against the treachery of both Congress and Telugudesam to Telangana formation after 9 December, 2009. The by election is a huge milestone in the struggle of Telangana people for a separate statehood. The politics in Telangana region would not be same again after this by-election. The creation of ‘Telangana’ is a distinct possibility now. The victory belongs to all the sections of Telangana people.

The campaign for separate state has taekn a distinct turn after 9th December. The treachery of ‘seemandhrulu’ of Congress, TDP and PRP and the spineless surrender of both Congress and TDP leaders from Telangana to their party high commands have triggered spontaneous resentment from all the sections of Telangana people. It has launched one of the very glorious chapters of struggle for emanicipation from the organized exploitation of Telangana people. Many elements and groups have contributed to this incredible victory.



TRS had been the main political party in this campaign. It has seen many ups and downs during the last ten years. It has learned its lessons. Now in this episode the party has behaved very responsibly. KCR acted with statesmanship in getting the co-operation of all the sections of people involved in the campaign and provided much needed political direction to it.

JAC was the chief co-ordinator for this well orchestrated campaign. It was much maligned by the political factions in Congress and TDP, and Andhra ‘samaikya’ elements; There were some internal rumblings too, in the beginning. Yet, the JAC under the chairmanship of Prof.Kodandaram and with dedicated work of his associates, has weathered all of it and was very successful in forging the unity in its numerous constituents, and achieved much needed stability to the movement.

Students of Telangana have been the bulwark of the entire movement. They had retrieve d the movement which was getting fizzled out, owing to the machinations of the A.P.Government. Later provided the spearhead, to inspire different sections of the people and were successful in drawing them in to the movement and build to the present level. They have to work under the shadow of police, sacrificed hundreds of lives of their compatriots in the struggle. Yet, undeterred and with extra ordinary courage they have forged ahead and have provided the much needed dynamic momentum to the campaign. The unique quality of the present student leadership is its maturity in understanding the situation and acting with team effort. Their contribution in the victory of by-election is singular.

The intelligentsia of Telangana have risen to the occasion, their proactive participation in the struggle have educated the people on all aspects of exploitation of the region. The poets/writers have very vigorously brought out the language and cultural domination of Andhra people. The experts in the areas of Irrigation, power, education etc., have made public very eloquently the injustices done to Telangana area. Particularly the irrigation experts have exposed the falsehoods on irrigation development and irreparable loss caused to Telangana. The struggle launched by Advocates as part of this movement is unique in the history of India. Their commitment and articulation has immensely contributed to the victory in by-election. Various other professional and employee organizations also have contributed handsomely to the success of this campaign.

The part played by the village level JACs in concert with folk artists after 9December, 2009 was a very inspiring event in the progression of this movement. The folk artists (singers/poets)have galvanized the people’s opinion in their own inimitable style. The agony of people has formed the theme of their creative talents. It is incredible to see such a crop of brilliantly talented artists in rural Telangana. They have caught the imagination of people with their titillating performances. They were successful in bringing change both in the mind and heart of Telangaa people, for separate state.

The ‘Raj TV’ the one and only Telangana channel has provided the much needed platform for the movement. It has acted with professional acumen in using the political and cultural resources of the region and was the live wire force in forging the opinions of disparate elements in to one in Telangana Region. I t was able to counter the vicious campaign unleashed by andhra dominated TV channels. It has done yeoman service to the cause of Telangana in the very short time it is in existence. Its contribution to the movement is nothing but spectacular.

Although the by-election victory is a big mile stone in the struggle for state hood,yet, there is a long arduous journey ahead of us. The dubious record of Andhra politicians and Congress party in thwarting the efforts of our people at crucial stages, makes us to become more resolute . We should not do the mistake of resting on our success. We should fight with renewed vigour till we fully achieve our statehood. All of us should know that It is either now or never.
