Much water has flown under the bridge ever since Tollywood shifted its base from Chennai to Hyderabad. There's development on all fronts. Many studios including some with world class standards and the graphics, creative wings and of course the post production suits have come up. The availability of artists is also easier and in one sense, Hyderabad has almost become the hub of Tollywood. As the city sleeps, Tollywood awakens.

A workforce of around 1 lakh people cook up dreams for all of Hyderabad and the rest of the state. In a city where theatre has been reduced to a hobby and music is an afterthought, Cinema provides entertainment and escape.
Keeping all these thigs in mind a theme-based diary detailing the long journey of Telugu Cinema was released by a city based Hindi daily Hindi Milap. The diary is a tribute to our city and captures the flavour of our streets, our people, and our culture.

Hyderabad Diary 2012 is a tribute to the Telugu Film Industry or Tollywood as it is popularly referred to. The film industry has played a major role in popular culture and Hyderabad as a city has absorbed elements of Telugu cinema. The diary showcases 75 year history of Telugu Cinema through glorious posters with a small focus on depicting the effect of Tollywood in Hyderabad – on the streets, amongst people and in their daily lives.
Written by noted film maker Sandeep Gunnam, and introductory remarks by Gangaraju Gunnam, the diary has over 50 spectacular posters from all eras. The cost of the diary is `365.
