Union Government Preparing its final decision on Telangana
The much awaited good news is on the way for Pro Telangana people. Before the next parliament session (the budget session) the Union Govrnment is planning to finalise the formation of Telangana State.
The Congress high command has decided to put a full stop to the Telangana imbroglio once and for all, without any further dodging.
Reports from New Delhi indicate that Home Minister P Chidamabaram had called for a meeting of home department officials on Monday to discuss the Srikrishna Committee recommendations and work out the ways and means of implementing the most suitable option.
Simultaneously, union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee would hold a meeting of Congress MPs from Telangana and Andhra individually and collectively and depending on their feedback, he would work out the Congress stand. “After finalizing the Congress party’s stand, the Home Minister would call for the second round of meeting with the leaders of all political parties, most probably before the following Monday, where he is expected them to spell out a single stand on the Telangana issue. If there is still a different view point within each party, the Centre would go by the letter given by the political parties to the Pranab Mukherjee Committee in the past,” sources said.
In any case, the Telangana issue would come to a conclusive stage by this month end, sources added.
