సినిమా ప్రభావం సమాజం మీద ఉంటుందా?

సమాజమే సినిమాలకు ప్రేరణ అవుతుందా?
రెండూ జరుగుతున్నాయి
అందుకే కొన్ని సినిమాలు ట్రెండ్ సెట్టర్స్ అయి...,
కొత్త సంస్కృతులనూ మోసుకొస్తుంటాయి
ఫ్యాషన్ నుంచి స్పోర్ట్స్ వరకూ అనేక రంగాల్లో
అవసరమైన స్ఫూర్తిని అందిస్తుంటాయి
అలాంటి సినిమాలు ఎక్కడున్నా స్పెషల్ ఫోకస్ పెట్టాల్సిందే

సరదాగా చెప్పుకున్నా, సీరియస్‌గా ఆలోచించినా అర్థమయ్యే ఒక విషయం ‘ప్రతి సినిమా సమాజంలోని పరిస్థితుల నుంచి పుడుతుంది. కానీ ప్రతి సినిమా ప్రజలపై ప్రభావం చూపించదు’ అని!

అందుకే ఒక సినిమా హిట్టయితే కొన్నాళ్ల పాటు ఆ సినిమా మాయలో ఉంటారు జనం. అది ఏ కుర్రాళ్లో, సినిమా పిచ్చోళ్లే అయితే పట్టించుకోనవసరం లేదు. కానీ మేధావులు, విద్యావంతులు, రాజకీయ నాయకులు...ఇలా సమాజంలోని పెద్దలు ప్రభావితులైనప్పుడు మాత్రం కాస్త ఆలోచించాలి. మన టాలీవుడ్ పరిధి చిన్నది కాబట్టి దాని సంగతి పక్కనపెట్టి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా వ్యాపారం సాగే ‘బాలీవుడ్’ను ఓ సారి గమనిస్తే అలాంటి సినిమాలు కొన్ని కనిపిస్తాయి. అవి పక్కా సినిమా ఫార్ములాతో తీసినవే అయినప్పటికీ ఆలోచింపజేసే చిత్రాలు కావడం గమనార్హం.

మున్నాభాయ్‌తో...
సంజయ్‌దత్ నటించిన ‘మున్నాభాయ్ ఎంబీబీఎస్’ చిత్రానికి కొనసాగింపుగా వచ్చిన చిత్రమే ‘లగేరహో మున్నాభాయ్’. ఈ సినిమా కూడా కమర్షియల్ హిట్టే. సగటు ప్రేక్షకుడి నుంచి మేధావుల వరకు అందరి దృష్టినీ ఆకర్షించింది. గాంధీజీ పుస్తకాలు చదివి ఆ ప్రభావంతో ఒక రౌడీలో వచ్చిన పరివర్తన అందరికీ నచ్చింది. అహింసా మార్గంలో, శాంతియుతంగా అన్యాయాల్ని ఎదురించే పద్ధతులు అందరినీ ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. గులాబీలతో నిరసనలు తెలపడం, సహనంతో నిర్లక్ష్యాన్ని జయించడం వంటి సన్నివేషాలు విపరీతంగా ఆకర్షించాయి. అయితే అవి సినిమాలోనే కనిపించి ఆగిపోలేదు. బయటి ప్రపంచానికీ విస్తరించాయి. రాజకీయ నిరసనలు సైతం గులాబీపూల బహూకరణ దాకా వెళ్లింది. 2009లో తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం తీవ్రరూపం దాల్చిన సందర్భంలో తెలంగాణ వాదులు ఆంధ్ర అధికారులకు, నాయకులకు గులాబీలు అందజేసి మద్దతు కోరారు. జార్ఖండ్, బీహార్ వంటి అనేక రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఈ తరహా నిరసనలు జరిగాయి. ఈ ఐడియాను సమాజంలో పాపులర్ చేసింది సినిమా కాదని ఎలా చెప్పగలం?

ఇలాంటి వినూత్న ఐడియాలతో వచ్చిన చిత్రాల ప్రభావం ఇప్పటికీ ఏదో ఒక చోట కనిపిస్తూనే ఉంది. అదే కోవలో ‘తారే జమీన్ పర్’, ‘పా’ వంటి చిత్రాలు కూడా అందరి దృష్టినీ తమవైపు తిప్పుకున్నాయి.
మానసిక, శారీరక వైకల్యం అనేది విశ్వజనీనమైన విషయం. నాలుగైదేళ్ల నుంచి బాలీవుడ్‌లో ఇలాంటి కాన్సెప్టులతో వచ్చిన చిత్రాలు ఎక్కువగానే ఉన్నాయి. నిజానికి అవన్నీ వెరైటీ కోసం ఎంచుకున్న సబ్జెక్టులే కావచ్చు, కానీ సమాజాన్ని ఆలోచనల్లోకి లాగిన చిత్రాలుగా నిలిచాయి. వ్యవస్థను ఎంతోకొంత ప్రభావితం చేస్తూ అనేక విషయాలను ప్రస్తావనకు తీసుకొచ్చిన ఈ కాన్సెప్టు ఓ ట్రెండ్ సెట్టర్‌గా నడుస్తోంది.

తారే జమీన్ పర్
అమీర్‌ఖాన్ అన్నీ తానై తీసిన చిత్రం తారే జమీన్ పర్. ఆస్కార్ నామినేషన్‌దాకా వెళ్లిన ఆ చిత్రం ‘డిస్లెక్సియా’ వ్యాధిపై వచ్చిన తొలి భారతీయ చిత్రం. సినిమా హిట్టవ్వడమే కాదు, దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ‘డిస్లెక్సియా’ బాధిత చిన్నారులను ప్రత్యేకంగా గుర్తించేలా చేయడం ఆ సినిమా సాధించిన అతి పెద్ద విజయం. తరువాత వచ్చిన ‘పా’, ‘మై నేమ్ ఈజ్ ఖాన్’, ‘గజిని’, ‘గుజారిష్’...వంటివి. వైద్యశాస్త్రాన్ని వడబోసి, అరుదైన వ్యాధులను వెతికి బాలీవుడ్‌లో కొత్త ట్రెండ్‌కు నాంది పలికినట్టయింది. ఈ సినిమాలు స్పెషల్లీ ఛాలెంజ్‌డ్ చిల్డ్రన్, పర్సన్స్‌ను చూసే కోణాన్ని మార్చాయి. అలాంటి వారి గురించి అనేక పరిశోధనలు జరిగి, వ్యాధులపై అవగాహన పెరిగింది. వాళ్లని అర్థం చేసుకునే స్థాయీ పెరిగింది. ‘విభిన్న’ ప్రతిభావంతుల జీవితాలను ఆవిష్కరించిన ఆ చిత్రాలు ఒక కొత్త ప్రపంచాన్ని పరిచయం చేశాయి. పిల్లల తల్లిదంవూడులను సమాయాత్తం చేశాయి. అయితే ఇదంతా అట్టహాసంగానో, బహిరంగంగానో జరగడం లేదు. నిశ్శబ్దంగా, పరోక్షంగా సాగుతోంది.

హాకీ వైభవం
క్రీడారంగంలో చూస్తే అత్యంత ప్రభావితం చేసిన సినిమా ‘చక్‌దే ఇండియా’. అంతకుముందు వచ్చిన ‘లగాన్’ సినిమాది కూడా క్రీడానేపథ్యమే కానీ అది క్రికెట్. చక్‌దే ఇండియా మూవీ హాకీ నేపథ్యంలో నడుస్తుంది. అది మన జాతీయ క్రీడ. భారతీయ యువత, స్పోర్ట్స్ అథారిటీలు క్రికెట్ మత్తులో హాకీని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేస్తున్న సమయంలో చక్ దే ఇండియా లాంటి సినిమా రావడం హాకీ పూర్వ వైభవం సంతరించుకునేందకు తోడ్పడింది. ‘కోచ్’ షారూక్ ఖాన్.. ఒక మహిళా హాకీ టీమ్‌ను తయారుచేసి ఇండియాకు ప్రపంచ కప్‌ను అందిస్తాడు. ఆ విజయం సినిమాలోనే అనుకుంటే పొరపాటే. క్రికెట్ జోష్‌లో జోగుతున్న ఎందరికో చక్ దే ఇండియా చక్ నిచ్చింది. మళ్లీ హాకీ వైభవాన్ని గుర్తు చేసింది. ఎందరో మాజీ క్రీడాకారులను మేల్కొలిపింది. అందుకే ఈ చిత్రం సక్సెస్‌ఫుల్ మూవీ మాత్రమే కాదు. సమాజాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేసిన ఒక మంచి సినిమా. అదేవిధంగా విద్యావ్యవస్థను పునరాలోచనలో పడేసిన ‘త్రీ ఇడియట్స్’ కూడా ప్రభావిత చిత్రంగానే చెప్పుకోవచ్చు.

న్యూ ‘ట్రెండ్’
పైన చెప్పిన సినిమాలు సమాజంపై ఒకరకమైన ఇంపాక్ట్ చూపితే ఇప్పుడు చెప్పుకోబోయే ‘జిందగీ న మిలేగీ దొబారా’ సినిమా ఎఫెక్ట్ వేరే టైపు. అది అవుట్ అండ్ అవుట్ ఫారెన్ కల్చర్ మూవీ. ప్రేమ, పెళ్లి, స్నేహం, జీవితం... అనే కాన్సెప్టులో సాగుతుందా చిత్రం. అయితే ఇండియాలో కొత్త సంస్కృతికి తెరలేపిన సినిమా ఇది. స్పెయిన్‌లో జరుపుకునే టమాటినో ఫెస్టివల్ మనదేశంలో జరగడానికి ప్రధాన కారణం ఆ సినిమానే. యూరప్ సంస్కృతి, సంప్రదాయాలను కళ్లకు కట్టినట్టు చూపిస్తుంది దర్శకురాలు జోయా అఖ్తర్. ఆగస్టులో రిలీజైన మరుసటి వారమే ఫ్రెండ్‌షిప్ డే సందర్భంగా బెంగళూర్, హైద్రాబాద్‌లలో టమాటినో ఫెస్టివల్స్ జరిగాయి (హైవూదాబాద్‌లో ఒక చోట అడ్డుకున్నారు. కానీ వేరేచోట జరిగింది). ఇంకేముంది. ఒక కొత్త ట్రెండ్ మొదలైంది! అయితే దీనికి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా విమర్శలు ఎదురయ్యాయి. ఒరిస్సాలాంటి రాష్ట్రాల్లో తిండిలేక ఆకలి చావులు పెరుగుతుంటే టమాటాలతో ఆడుకోవడం ఏంటి? అని మేధావులు, ప్రజలు తీవ్రంగా స్పందించారు. యూత్‌కున్న న్యూ ట్రెండ్ ఆసక్తిలో అవన్నీ ఆర్తనాదాలుగానే మిగిలాయి.

డాన్సు.. సంగీతం...స్పోర్ట్స్...ఫ్యాషన్ ట్రెండ్స్... ఇలా కాన్సెప్టు ఏదైనా ఆ సినిమా ప్రభావం ఎంతో కొంత ఏదో ఒక వర్గంపై ఉండనే ఉంటది. అది వేరే విషయం కానీ చెప్పుకోదగిన, అర్థవంతమైన, చర్చనీయాంశమైన ప్రభావాన్నే లెక్కలోకి తీసుకుంటే అలాంటి సినిమాలు అతి తక్కువ సంఖ్యలో ఉంటున్నాయి.ఏ రచయిత అయినా, దర్శకుడయినా సమాజంలో జరుగుతున్న సంఘటనలే సినిమాల్లో చూపిస్తున్నాం అంటున్నారు. అది నిజమే కావచ్చు... కానీ ఆ సినిమా జనంపై ప్రత్యేక ప్రభావం చూపడమే ఇక్కడ విశేషం.

తెలుగు సంగతేంటి?
వాస్తవంగా చెప్పాలంటే టాలీవుడ్ విస్తక్షుతి తక్కువ. అందుకే దాని ప్రభావమూ తక్కువే. పైగా పక్కా కమర్షియల్ టైపు కాబట్టి ‘సమాజం- ప్రభావం’ అనే విషయం పక్కనపెట్టాల్సిందే. మన సినిమాల ప్రభావం కాలేజీ కుర్రాళ్లను దాటిపోదు. అయినా ఓ సారి గమనిస్తే... ‘ప్రేమించుకుందాం...రా’ సినిమాతో బంధువుల ఇంటికి ప్రేమాయణాలు నడపడం, ‘ప్రేమంటే ఇదేరా’తో పెళ్లిలో సైట్ కొట్టడం బాగా నడిచాయి. ఆ తరువాత ‘జయం’, ‘నువ్వు-నేను’ వంటి చిత్రాలు కాలేజీలన్నీ ప్రేమాలయాలుగా మార్చే ప్రయత్నం చేశాయి. అంతేకాదు లెక్చరర్లను బఫూన్లుగా చూసే ట్రెండ్ కూడా అప్పుడే మొదలైంది. అంతకుముందు నుంచే ‘ఇడియట్స్’ అందరూ హీరోలుగా మారిపోయారు. ఇటీవల కాలంలో తెల్లబట్టలు వేసుకున్నోళ్లంతా‘ఫ్యాక్షనిస్టు’లను చేసింది. లేటేస్ట్‌గా ‘మాఫియా’లోని మజాను ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తోంది. ఇంకెక్కడి సమాజం, ఇంకెక్కడి ప్రభావం!

30 of world’s 50 wealthiest Arabs are Saudis

Jeddah, December 20: Saudi Arabia has once again topped the Middle East for its super-rich residents, cornering 60 percent on the Arabian Business Rich List 2011 published Sunday. Thirty of the world’s 50 wealthiest Arabs are Saudis.

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Al Saud for the eighth consecutive year topped the List with a fortune of $21.3 billion, as overall wealth of the world’s 50 wealthiest Arabs rose nearly 5 percent to $257 billion, despite global economic gloom and a year of unprecedented popular unrest in parts of the Middle East.

At No.2 is the founder of MBI Group, Mohammed Al Jaber, with $12.6 billion in the bank.
The UAE got only four on the list and Qatar just three.

Kuwait managed to get three on the list while Egypt just one.

Saudi Arabia’s Olayan family, who deals mainly in banking and finance, retained third position with an estimated net worth of $12.4 billion, up from $11.9 billion a year ago.

Issam Alzahid, also from Saudi Arabia, jumped to fourth position this year, ranking 22nd in 2010, after he saw his wealth more than double to $10.7 billion from $4.3 billion. Alzahid is the chairman of Alzahid Group of Companies, which deals in construction and industries.

Saudi energy tycoon Mohammad Al Amoudi fell one place to fifth position but still added 4 percent to his net worth, which now stands at $10.4 billion.

Kuwait’s Al Kharafi family, which trades mainly in real estate and retail, maintained sixth spot at $8.7 billion, up from $8.2 billion a year ago.

The Bukhamseen family, also from Kuwait, shot up to seventh place from rank 25, adding $3.25 billion to its net worth to a total $7.25 billion.

Saudi’s Binladin family, active mainly in construction and industries, fell to eighth position after its wealth dropped about 26 percent to $7.25 in 2011, the biggest decline of any list entry.

Ranked ninth, Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah-based Bugshan family, who deals in businesses including automobiles, real estate and electronics, saw its wealth unchanged at about $7 billion.

At tenth place is Said Khoury from Palistine at $6.52 billion, who is in the construction and industry business.

Just one Bahraini family, the Kanoo family, made it the Arabian Business Rich List 2011 at the 14th place with $6 billion in wealth.

Across the region, which sits on some of the world’s largest oil reserves, there are 4,490 so-called ultra-high-net-worth individuals, compared with 62,960 in North America and 54,325 in Europe, Wealth-X said last November.

Private banks and wealth management firms have been quick to tap into the market, with a number of finance houses shifting their focus to wealth management following the credit crisis.

'Makkah becoming one of world’s most modern cities'

Makkah, December 18: Makkah is being transformed into one of the world’s most modern cities as a result of the many multi-billion riyal projects underway, said Dr. Osama Al-Bar, Mayor of Makkah.

Al-Bar said that a number of projects are close to completion, including the additions to the Grand Mosque and two tunnels for pedestrians from Al-Hujun to the Grand Mosque.

The Jabal Omar Project is expected to be completed in the near future and would provide accommodation for pilgrims close to the Grand Mosque.

Many pilgrims have to rent accommodation far away from the Grand Mosque at present, making it difficult for them to attend the five daily prayers, said Al-Bar. Other mega projects underway are the SR23 billion Makkah metro that will provide public train transport for the entire city.

There are also extensions being made to Ring Roads two, three and four, costing SR200 million. A total of SR800 million is being spent on building 4,000 houses for citizens in the Umm Al-Jood area.

In addition, SR100 billion will be spent on upgrading various residential neighborhoods. A total of SR12 billion of this amount will come from the private sector.

The Bawwaba mega project, west of Makkah, will see 34 districts set up over an area of 80 million square meters. Tenders will be issued for this project.

Projects already completed include the two new floors of the Masa’a – where pilgrims perform the ritual of moving between the mounts of Al-Safa and Al-Marwa. In addition, the train service for pilgrims at the Holy Sites has been operational for the past two years, said Al-Bar.
