కుభీర్, ఏప్రిల్ 23 (: ఆడపిల్ల అంగడి సరుకైంది. మృగాడిలా ప్రవర్తిస్తున్న మగాడి ఎదుట బలి పశువవుతోంది. డబ్బున్న వాళ్ల చేతిలో మహిళ ‘పే అండ్ యూజ్’గా మారిపోతోంది. అత్యాచారంపై దేశరాజధాని వీధుల్లో ఆందోళనకారులు ఆగ్రహంతో రగిలిపోతుంటే.. ఆదిలాబాద్ పల్లెల్లో మాత్రం అమానుషం రాజ్యమేలుతోంది. అత్యాచార బాధితురాలి శీలానికి గ్రామ పెద్దలే వెలకట్టి అబలను అపహాస్యం చేస్తున్నారు. అఘాయిత్యానికి పాల్పడిన వారిపై నిర్భయ చట్టం కింద కేసు నమోదు చేయించకుండా, అతడికే వత్తాసు పలికారు. ఆదిలాబాద్ జిల్లా కుభీర్ మండలం పల్సి పంచాయతీ పరిధిలోని ఓ గ్రామానికి, సరిహద్దులోని మహారాష్ట్ర నుంచి ఓ గిరిజన కుటుంబం వలస వచ్చిం ది. భర్త పాలేరుగా, భార్య కూలీ పనులు చేస్తూ కాలం గడుపుతున్నారు.

ఈనెల 20న ఉదయం 9గంటల ప్రాంతంలో భర్త పనుల కోసం వెళ్లా డు. గ్రామానికి చెందిన ఓ మాజీ ప్రజావూపతినిధి వారి ఇంట్లోకి చోరబడి గిరిజన మహిళ (33)పై అత్యాచారానికి పాల్పడ్డాడు. ఆమె అరుపులు విని ఇరుగుపోరుగు అక్కడకు చేరుకునేలోపే అతగాడు పారిపోయాడు. సాయంత్రం ఇంటికి వచ్చిన భర్తకు విషయం చెప్పిన భార్య భోరున విలపించింది. అత్యాచా రం చేసిన వ్యక్తి.. గ్రామంలోని నలుగురు పెద్దమనుషులను ఆశ్రయించాడు. తనను గట్టెక్కించాలని రాయబా రం నడిపాడు. దీంతో సోమవారం బాధితురాలి భర్తకు మద్యం తాగించి పంచాయతీ పెట్టారు. బాధితురాలి శీలానికి వెల కట్టారు. జరిమానాగా రూ. 5వేల విధించగా, రూ.35వేలు అక్కడికక్కడే చెల్లించారు. మిగతా రూ.50 వేలు 29న చెల్లించాలని ఆదేశించారు. బాధిత మహిళ సంఘటన జరిగిన నాటినుంచి కుమిలిపోతుండడంతో ఆమెను స్థానిక మహిళలు ఓదార్చుతున్నారు. బాధను దిగమింగేందుకు ఆమె భర్తకు ప్రతిరోజు మద్యం తాగిస్తున్నట్లు తెలిసింది. ఈ విషయమై గ్రామస్తులను ఆరా తీయగా ఘటన వాస్తమేనని చెప్పారు. కుభీర్ ఎస్‌ఐ తోట సంజీవ్‌ను వివరణ కోరగా అత్యాచారం ఘటన తమ దృష్టికి రాలేదని, ఫిర్యాదు చేస్తే నిందితుడిపై కేసు నమోదు చేస్తామని సెలవిచ్చారు.

హైదరాబాద్ సిటీబ్యూరో, ఏప్రిల్ 23 (): ఆ మొన్న సింగరేణి.. మొన్న జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ.. నిన్న ఆర్టీసీ.. నేడు జలమండలి.. ఏ ఎన్నికల్లోనైనా తెలంగాణవాదమే విజయఢంకా మోగించి అప్రతిహతంగా జయకేతనం ఎగురవేస్తోంది. తెలంగాణవాదం అన్ని వర్గాల ప్రజల్లో బలంగా ఉందని రుజువుచేస్తోంది. హైదరాబాద్‌లో తెలంగాణవాదం లేదనే శక్తులకు ఈ ఫలితాల తీరు చెంపపెట్టు. యే తెలంగాణ హమారా.. యే హైదరాబాద్ షహర్ హమారా.. అని నినదిస్తున్న జనమే తాజాగా జలమండలి ఎన్నికల్లోనూ తెలంగాణవాదానికి పట్టంగట్టారు. సీమాంధ్ర శక్తుల కుటిల కుమ్మక్కులను కార్మికలోకం తిప్పికొట్టింది. జలమండలి కార్మిక సంఘం గుర్తింపు ఎన్నికల్లో ఏకైక తెలంగాణ యూనియన్ జయకేతనం ఎగురవేసింది. అధికార, ఆర్థిక, మందబలాన్ని మట్టికరిపించింది. అధికారం, విచ్చలవిడిగా మందు, డబ్బు పంపిణీతో తనదే విజయమని విర్రవీగిన కాంగ్రెస్‌అనుబంధ యూనియన్ నాయకుడు మంత్రి ముఖేష్‌గౌడ్ కుమారుడు విక్రంగౌడ్‌కు శృంగభంగమైంది. హైదరాబాద్ వాటర్‌వర్క్స్ అండ్ సివరేజ్ కామ్‌గార్ యూనియన్ (టీఆర్‌ఎస్ అనుబంధం) విజయకేతనం ఎగురవేసింది.

ప్రధానంగా వాటర్‌వర్క్స్ ఎంప్లాయీస్ యూనియన్ (కాంక్షిగెస్), హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రోపాలిటన్ వాటర్ సప్లై, సివరేజ్ బోర్డు స్టాఫ్, వర్కర్స్ అసోసియేషన్ (టీడీపీ) మధ్య హోరాహోరీగా జరిగిన ఈ ఎన్నికల్లో కార్మికలోకం మాత్రం తెలంగాణవాదానికే జై కొట్టి కామ్‌గార్ యూనియన్‌కు పట్టం కట్టారు. హరీష్‌రావు అధ్యక్షులుగా ఉన్న కామ్‌గార్ యూనియన్ 9 ఓట్ల ఆధిక్యంతో గెలుపొందింది. కామ్‌గార్ యూనియన్ 1547 ఓట్లు సాధించగా, కాంగ్రెస్ అనుబంధ ఎంప్లాయీస్ యూనియన్‌కు 1449 లభించాయి. దశాబ్దకాలంగా చాంపియన్‌గా ఉంటూ వస్తున్న యూనియన్‌ను కార్మికులు మట్టి కరిపించడం గమనార్హం. ఓట్ల లెక్కింపు పూర్తయినప్పటికీ కోర్టులో కేసు ఉన్నందున ఫలితాలను అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించలేదు. మరో రెండురోజుల్లో అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఈసారి కూడా పెద్దిడ్డి నాయకత్వంలో పోటీచేసిన టీడీపీ అనుబంధ యూనియన్‌కు జలమండలి కార్మికులు డిపాజిట్ గల్లంతు చేశారు. హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రోపాలిటన్ వాటర్ సప్లై, సివరేజ్ బోర్డు స్టాఫ్, వర్కర్స్ అసోసియేషన్ అధ్యక్షుడి హోదాలో పెద్దిడ్డి ముచ్చటగా ఐదోసారి బరిలో దిగారు.

ఆ పార్టీ అధినేత చంద్రబాబు ఆశీస్సులతో తలసాని శ్రీనివాస్‌యాదవ్ బృందం సహకారంతో ప్రచారం జరిపి ఒక్కసారి అవకాశం ఇవ్వాలని కార్మికులకు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. కానీ సమైక్యపార్టీ ముసుగులో వచ్చిన పెద్దిడ్డిని కార్మికులు ఛీకొట్టారు. పోలైన 374 ఓట్లలో ఆ సంఘం కేవలం 279 ఓట్లు మాత్రమే సాధించింది. సీమాంధ్ర పార్టీలతో జతకడుతూ తెలంగాణ ప్రజల ఆకాంక్షను విస్మరించిన మజ్లిస్ పార్టీకి సైతం జలమండలి కార్మికులు డిపాజిట్ గల్లంతు చేశారు. హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రోవాటర్ సప్లై సివరేజ్ బోర్డు ఎంప్లాయీస్ యూనియన్ తరపున పోటీచేసిన ఎంఐఎం ఎమ్మెల్యే బలాలకు కేవలం 473 ఓట్లు మాత్రమే వచ్చాయి. జ్ఞానేశ్వర్ యూనియన్ మద్దతును కూడగట్టుకున్నప్పటికి మజ్లిస్ సైతం తెలంగాణకు వ్యతిరేకంగా వెళ్ళి బోర్లాపడింది. హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలో తెలంగాణవాదమే లేదని విర్రవీగుతున్న సమైక్యవాదులకు ఈ ఎన్నికలు మరోమారు చెంపపెట్టుగా నిలిచాయని తెలంగాణవాదులు పేర్కొన్నారు. జలమండలి కార్మికులకు టీఆర్‌ఎస్ అధ్యక్షుడు కేసీఆర్ ధన్యవాదాలు చెప్పారు.

హైదరాబాద్‌లో తెలంగాణవాదాన్ని తక్కువ చేసినవారికి ఈ ఎన్నికలు చెంపపెట్టని హరీష్‌రావు వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. ఆంధ్రపార్టీలకు బుద్ధి చెప్పింవూడని తెలంగాణవాదమే గెలిచిందని టీఎంయూ నేత అశ్వత్థామడ్డి హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఇక అంతటా టీఆర్‌ఎస్ జెండాలను ఎగురేస్తామని టీఆర్‌ఎస్ హైదరాబాద్ అధ్యక్షుడు కట్టెల శ్రీనివాస్‌యాదవ్ ప్రకటించారు. తెలంగాణలో ఏ ఎన్నికలు జరిగినా తెలంగాణవాదమే గెలుస్తుందని ఉద్యోగసంఘాల జేఏసీ నేత దేవీవూపసాద్ పేర్కొనగా, తెలంగాణవాదానికి తిరుగులేదని టీఆర్‌ఎస్ నేతలు శ్రావణ్, వీ ప్రకాశ్ తదితరులు స్పష్టం చేశారు

‘ఇదిగో అబ్బాయ్.. ఈ మూడు నెలలు కేబుల్ కనెక్షన్ వద్దు... పిల్లలకి పరీక్షలు’
సంక్రాంతి సెలవుల సరదా ఇంకా పూర్తిగా దిగకముందే ఆ సరదాలను పటాపంచలు చేస్తూ ఇంట్లో పిల్లలకి తల్లిదండ్రులకీ ఆందోళన కలిగించేలా అడుగులు వేస్తూ తను వైపే వస్తూ కనిపించే భూతం... పరీక్షలు.
ప్రస్తుత పోటీ ప్రపపంచంలో ఆర్థికంగా, సామాజికంగా ఒక భద్రతా పూర్వకమైన స్థాయిలో జీవితంలో స్థిరపడడానికి, మంచి విద్యార్హతలు ఉంటేనే సాధ్యపడుతుందనే భావన ప్రతి తల్లిదండ్రుల్లోనూ ఉంది. తమ పిల్లలు బాగా చదువుకొని, మంచి ఉద్యోగం చేయాలని భావించే తల్లిదండ్రుల శాతం గత పదేళ్ళలో 35 శాతం పెరిగి, ప్రస్తుతం అలా భావించే అమ్మానాన్నల సంఖ్య మొత్తం కుటుంబాలలో 75 శాతం ఉంది. ఇటీవలి కాలంలో గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాలలో తల్లిదండ్రులు కూడా పిల్లల చదువు, ఉద్యోగాల మీదే దృష్టి కేంద్రీకరిస్తున్నారు. ఈ మొత్తం పరిణామాలు పిల్లలమీద తీవ్రస్థాయిలో ఒత్తిడిని పెంచేస్తున్నాయని మానసిక నిపుణులు అభిప్రాయ పడుతున్నారు. ఈ ఒత్తిడి పరీక్షల సమయంలో పరాకాష్టను చేరి అనేక అనర్థాలకు దారితీస్తోంది.

పరీక్షలు దగ్గరకొస్తున్నాయనగానే తల్లిదండ్రు లు తాము ఆందోళన పడిపోయి పిల్లలను కూడా ఎంతో ఆందోళనకు గురిచేస్తున్నారు. పరీక్షలలో తమ పిల్లలు మంచి మార్కులు సంపాదించాలనే ఏకైక లక్ష్యంతో పిల్లలని అనేక విధాల కట్టడి చేస్తుంటారు. ఎన్నో నియమాలు విధిస్తుంటారు. నిరంతరం హెచ్చరిస్తుంటారు. ఒకప్పుడు ఈ పరీక్షల హడావిడి కేవలం 7,10 వంటి పబ్లిక్ పరీక్షల సమయాల్లోనే ఉండేది. ఇప్పుడు ఒకటవ తరగతి పిల్లలకి కూడా పరీక్షల ఒత్తిడిని కలిగిస్తున్నారు తల్లిదండ్రులు.

పరీక్షల సమయంలో పిల్లల పెంపకం అనేది ఎంతో సున్నితమైన, కీలకమైన అంశం. అసలు ఆ సమయంలో తల్లిదండ్రులు పిల్లల పట్ల తమ బాధ్యతను సరిగ్గా నిర్వర్తిస్తున్నారా? అంటే అధిక శాతం లేదనే చెప్తున్నాయి సర్వేలు. ఈ అంశంపై ఎన్నో శాస్త్రీయమైన సూచనలను మానసిక నిపుణులు చేసి వాటిని పాటించడం వలన మరిన్ని మంచి ఫలితాలు లభిస్తాయని హామీ ఇస్తున్నారు.

పిల్లలే సమస్తం
పిల్లలకు తాము బాగా చదవాలని, పరీక్షలు బాగా రాయాలని మంచి మార్కులతో పాసవ్వాలని తెలుసనే విషయం తల్లిదండ్రులు నమ్మాలి. వారికి ప్రత్యేకంగా చదవమని ఒత్తిడి చేయనవసరం లేదు. అయితే పిల్లలు తమ లక్ష్యాలను సాధించే దిశగా తల్లిదండ్రులు సహకరించడం, తగిన వాతావరణాన్ని కల్పించడం, అండగా నిలబడడం చేయాలి.

పరీక్షల గురించి మాట్లాడాలి. ఏఏ సబ్జక్టులు కష్టమైనవి, ఏవి సులభమైనవో అడిగి తెలుసుకోవాలి. కష్టమైన వాటిని ఎందుకు కష్టమైనవో చర్చించాలి. వాటిని సులభంగా చేసే కొన్ని చిట్కాలు చెప్పాలి.
సమయంలో పిల్లలే ఇంట్లో విఐపిలుగా భావించాలి. వారికి తగ్గట్టుగానే ఇంట్లో అన్ని పనులు జరుగుతుండాలి. తనకి ఇంట్లో ఎంతో ప్రాముఖ్యత లభిస్తోందనే విషయం పిల్లలు ఫీలవ్వాలి.
సమయంలో పిల్లలో కలిగే అనేక భావాలను స్వేచ్ఛగా వ్యక్తపరచగలగడం చాలా ముఖ్యం.
దానికి తల్లిదండ్రులే చొరవ తీసుకొని మాట్లాడాలి.

ఆత్మవిశ్వాసాన్ని నింపాలి. ‘నువ్వు బాగా చదువుతావు. నీకు ఆసక్తి ఉంది. నీకు తేలికగా మంచి మార్కులు వస్తాయి’ అనే పాజిటివ్ సంకేతాలు తల్లిదండ్రుల నుంచి పిల్లలకు అందాలి.

పోషక విలువలుగల వారికి ఇష్టమైన ఆహారపదార్ధాలను చేసిపెట్టాలి. వాళ్ళు సరిగ్గా తినేలా, సరిగ్గా నిద్రపోయేలా చూడాలి.

భయం పొగొట్టడానికి పిల్లలు తేలిగ్గా జవాబులు రాయగల కొన్ని ప్రశ్నాప్రతాలను తయారుచేసి వారితో రాయించాలి. వాటితో సాధించే మంచి మార్కులు పిల్లల ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గిస్తాయి.

ప్రిపరేషన్ సమయంలో పిల్లలు ఉత్సాహ భరితంగా ఉండడం చాలా అవసరం. అందుకు తల్లిదండ్రులు చిన్న చిన్న బహుమానాలు, కొత్త వస్తువులు కొని ఇస్తుండాలి.

ప్రిపరేషన్‌కు అవసరమైన చిన్నచిన్న నోట్స్ రాసిపెట్టడం, రివిజన్‌లో సహాయపడడం, చదువుకోవడానికి టైమ్ తయారుచేయడం వంటివి చేయాలి.

సమయంలో పిల్లల్ని అప్పుడప్పుడు బయటకు తీసుకెళ్ళాలి. చదువనేది నిర్విరామంగా ఉండకూడదు.
సాధారణంగా ఎలా చదవాలో సరైన అవగాహన లేకుండా చదువుతుంటారు. దానివలన అదేపనిగా చదవడం, ఒకటే సబ్జెక్టు చదవడం వలన ఆసక్తి తగ్గిపోవడం, ఏకాగ్రత ఉండకపోవడం, శారీరకంగా అలసిపోవడం జరుగుతుంది. కాబట్టి తల్లిదండ్రులు కొన్ని ప్రిపరేషన్ టెక్నిక్స్ తెలుసుకొని పిల్లల్ని కూడా అలాగే చదివిస్తే మంచి ఫలితం ఉంటుంది.

ఈ రకమైన చర్యలతో తల్లిదండ్రులు పిల్లలలో పరీక్షల ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గించడమే కాకుండా, తాము కూడా ఎంతో రిలాక్స్‌డ్‌గా ఉండవచ్చు. దీని ప్రభావం పిల్లల పరీక్షా ఫలితాలపై కూడా పాజిటివ్‌గా ఉంటుంది. పిల్లలకు పరీక్షలలో మంచి మార్కులు రావాలని కోరుకోవడంలో తప్పులేదు. కానీ ఆ మార్కులు, పిల్లల జీవితాల కన్నా, వ్యక్తిత్వాల కన్నా గొప్పవి కావనే విషయం తల్లిదండ్రులు గ్రహిస్తే ఈ పరీక్షాకాలం అందరికీ ఆహ్లాదకాలంగా గడిపేయవచ్చు.

ఇలా చేయండి..!
పరీక్షల టైమ్‌టేబుల్ వచ్చిన ఒక రెండు మూడు రోజుల తర్వాత పిల్లలతో ఒక చర్చా కార్యక్రమం పెట్టాలి.
వెళ్ళి టీచర్‌ని కలిసి పిల్లల పరిస్థితి ఏమిటో, సబ్జక్టులలో ప్లస్‌లు, మైనస్‌లు తెలుసుకోవాలి.
ప్రిపరేషన్‌కి ఒక 60 లేదా 30 రోజుల టైమ్ తయారుచేయాలి. ఏఏ సబ్జక్టులు ఎప్పుడు, ఎంత చదవాలనే దానిపై ఒక విశ్లేషణ చేసుకొని దానికి తగ్గట్టుగా టైమ్‌టేబుల్ తయారుచేసుకోవాలి.

అదే పనిగా గంట సమయం కన్నా ఎక్కువ సేపు చదవనీయకండి.
ప్రశ్నాపత్రాలు తయారుచేసి మాక్ టెస్ట్‌లు పెట్టండి. దానికి బహుమతులు ఇవ్వండి.
వారానికోసారి బయటకు తీసుకువెళ్లండి. అప్పుడప్పుడు ఆటకి, టీవీకి అనుమతి ఇవ్వండి.
చదివితే ఏమవుతుందో దృశ్యపరంగా వివరించి చెప్పండి. వారికి ఇష్టమైన సినిమా హీరోలు, క్రీడాకారుల చదువు గురించి చెప్పాలి.

ఇలా చేయవద్దు..!
టైమ్ రాగానే ‘ఇక ఆటలు టీవీలు బంద్‌చేసి చదువు’ అని భయపెట్టకండి
టార్గెట్ పెట్టకండి. ఇతర పిల్లల మార్కులతో పోల్చి ‘అన్ని మార్కులు రాకపోతే’ అని హెచ్చరికలు జారీ చేయకండి.

సందేహాలు వచ్చి అడిగితే విసుక్కోకండి.
మంచి మార్కులు రాకపోతే ‘చదువు మాన్పించేస్తానని, ఎవరింట్లోనైనా పనికి పెట్టేస్తానని’ బెదిరించకండి.
సిలబస్ పూర్తి కాకపోవడం, టీచర్ చెప్పడం బాలేకపోవడం వంటి సమస్యలు పిల్లలు చెప్పినప్పుడు ఏవో సాకులు చెప్తున్నారని, విసుక్కోకూడదు.

చదువుమీద బోలెడంత ఖర్చు చేశాం’ అని ఆ డబ్బు తేవడానికి ఎన్ని కష్టాలు పడ్డారో, ఎన్ని అప్పులు చేశారో పిల్లల ముందు ఏకరవు పెట్టకూడదు.

మీద నిఘా పెట్టకూడదు. మాటిమాటికీ చదువుతున్నారో లేదో వెళ్ళి చూడకూడదు. ఆ విషయం సులభంగా గ్రహించగలరు.

Sex workers openly using Facebook, Twitter to advertise services

London, Jan 31 ): Sex workers are openly using social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter to advertise their services.

Prostitutes and escort agencies have created hundreds of unrestricted pages on Facebook.

This has sparked concern that children are being exposed to both explicit content as well as the services of the sex industry, the Telegraph reports.

Many of the pages include explicit photographs, descriptions of services alongside phones numbers, addresses and prices.

Facebook has removed dozens of the pages after being contacted by The Times newspaper.

The site said it "has a clear set of rules and these pages broke them", but said it could only take action when offensive items were reported to them by members of the public.

According to the paper, the postings were also reported to Twitter, but the microblogging site declined to comment or take action.

Under the company's rules, content would need to be illegal to be considered in breach of its terms and conditions, the paper added.

ఢిల్లీ ఉదంతం తర్వాత దేశంలోని ఆడపిల్లల తల్లిదండ్రులు ఉలిక్కిపడ్డారు. చదువుకునే లేదా ఉద్యోగాలు చేసే తమ బిడ్డలు ఎంత సురక్షితంగా ఉన్నారన్న సందేహం వారిని వెంటాడుతోంది. అయితే ఆడపిల్లల తల్లిదండ్రులు తమ పరిసరాలు ఎంత పదిలమో పరిశీలించుకునేందుకు ప్రముఖ క్లినికల్ సైకాలజిస్ట్ అందిస్తున్న సూచనలు.

క్రూర మృగాలుండే దట్టమైన అడవుల్లో కూడా ఒకే చక్కటి నిబద్ధత ఉంటుందన్న విషయం మనకు తెలుసు. ఈ క్రూరమృగాలు అనవసరంగా బలహీన జంతువులను తమ వినోదం కోసం చంపవు. చిన్న ప్రాణుల ప్రాణాలతో ఏ క్రూరమృగం చెలగాటాలు ఆడవు. మరి ఇదే నిబంధన మన సభ్య సమాజానికి వర్తిస్తుందా? ఢిల్లీలో మొన్న జరిగిన కిరాతకం, దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా జరుగుతున్న ఇంకా ఎన్నో సంఘటనలు, మనల్ని మరోలా ఆలోచించేట్టు చేస్తున్నాయి.

ఈ కాలంలో ఇటు అమ్మాయిలూ, అటు వాళ్ళ తల్లిదండ్రులు, అమ్మాయిల భవిష్యత్తు బంగారు బాటగా మారేట్టు జాగ్రత్త పడాలి. అమ్మాయిలను సమస్యల వలయంలో చిక్కుకోకుండా కాపాడుకోవాలి. అమ్మాయిలు కూడా తమను తాము నియంత్రించుకోవాలి. అలాగని ఇంతవరకు జరిగిన విపత్తులకు అమ్మాయిలే బాధ్యులు అని అనుకోవడం, అతిపెద్ద పొరపాటు. అమ్మాయిల జీవితాలు సవ్యంగా ఉండేలా, వాళ్ళు సవ్యంగా ఎదిగి, వాళ్ళ జీవితం మూడుపువ్వులు, ఆరు కాయలు కావడా నికి, వాళ్ళేమి చేయాలి? అమ్మానాన్నల బాధ్యతలేమిటి? అన్న విషయాలను చర్చించు కోవడం సమంజసమే.

చదువు పైనే ధ్యాస
విద్యార్థినులు ఐడిల్‌గా ఉండకూడదు. చదువుతూ పోవాలి. ప్రఖ్యాత సైంటిస్ట్ ఇజాక్ న్యూటన్ కదులుతున్న వస్తువు కదులుతూనే ఉంటుందని, చలనం లేని వస్తువు నిశ్చలంగానే ఉంటుందని తెలిపాడు. ఇది చదువుకూ వర్తిస్తుంది. శ్రద్ధతో చదువుతున్న విద్యార్థి చదువుతూ ఉంటే, పుస్తకమే ముట్టని వాళ్ళు, యధాతధంగా ఉండిపోతారు. అందుకే అమ్మాయిలూ ఎప్పుడూ చదువుతూ పోవాలి. వాళ్ళెప్పుడు చదువు గురించి ఆలోచిస్తూ ఉండాలి. అప్పుడే ఆలోచనలు ప్రవర్తనల కింద మారుతాయి. ఈ ప్రవర్తన అలవాటు కింద మారుతుంది. అప్పుడు సినిమాలు, షికార్లు, బాయ్ ఫ్రెండ్స్ గురించి ఆలోచనలు మనసులో మెదలాడవని మనకు తెలుసు. అలాగని అమ్మాయిలు సినిమాలు చూడ కూడదని, షికార్లకు వెళ్లకూడదని అనుకోకూడదు. చదువుకుంటూ అవన్ని చేయవచ్చు. కానీ వాళ్ళు బాయ్‌ఫ్రెండ్స్‌తో సమయం వెళ్ళబుచ్చుతూ, తీసు కోవలసిన జాగ్రత్తల్ని మాత్రం మరవొద్దు.

మంచి స్నేహం ఒక కవచం
పాత కాలంలో యుద్ధం చేస్తున్నప్పుడు యోధులు కవచాన్ని ధరించేవారు. ఈ కవచం శత్రువుల కత్తిపోట్ల నుంచి యోధుణ్ని రక్షించేది. స్నేహం కూడా ఈ కవచంలాంటిదే. కవచం శరీరాన్ని కాపాడితే, స్నేహం మనస్సును గాయపడకుండా కాపాడుతుంది. స్నేహం కేవలం మనస్సును బాధలతో తట్టుకునేట్టు కాపాడడమే కాకుండా, మనిషి జీవితం లోనే ఒక సంతోషాన్ని, సంతృప్తిని నింపుతుంది. అందుకే ‘ఏనాయిస్ నిన్’ అనే ప్రముఖ విద్యావేత్త ఉద్దేశ్యం ప్రకా రం ప్రతి మిత్రుడు మనకొక కొత్త ప్రపంచం. మిత్రుడు తారసపడే వరకు మనకు ఈ ప్రపంచమే లేదు. వాళ్ళను కలుసుకున్న తక్షణమే ఈ కొత్త ప్రపంచం ఎల్లలు మనసు స్పర్శిస్తాయి.

హెన్రీ స్టాక్ సుల్లివాన్ అనే ప్రముఖ సైకాలజిస్ట్ మిత్రత్వానికి ఎక్కువ ప్రముఖ్యత ఇస్తాడు. విద్యార్థుల మానసిక మెరుగుదల, ఎదుగుదల మిత్రుల పైననే ఆధారపడి ఉంటుందంటాడు. సమస్యలు ఎదురైనప్పుడు అడాలిసెంట్స్, ప్రధమం గా మిత్రులతోనే చెప్పుకుంటారని, పార్లీ అనే సైకాలజిస్ట్ చెబుతాడు. మంచి స్నేహితురాలు విద్యార్థినికి ఒక కొత్త స్పూర్తిని ఇస్తుంది. ఒక చక్కటి గమ్యాన్ని నిర్ణయించుకొనేందుకు సహకరిస్తుంది. అల్లరి చిల్లరగా తిరుగుతూ, ప్రస్తుత కోరికల సంతృప్తికే ప్రాధాన్యత ఇచ్చే అమ్మాయి స్నేహితు రాలుగా దొరికితే మాత్రం ఒక సమస్యగా మారుతుంది. తాజెడిన కోతి, వనమెల్ల చెరిచింది అనే సామెత మాదిరి, ఈ అమ్మాయి స్నేహం వలన మిగతా పిల్లలు కూడా ఇదే వంతు పాట పాడుతారు. అప్పుడు అమ్మాయిలు ప్రమాదాల్ని ఆహ్వానించినట్టు అవుతుంది. అందుకే అమ్మాయి స్నేహితులు ఎలాంటి వాళ్ళు అన్నది అమ్మానాన్నలు గమనించాలి. అలాగని అమ్మాయిల పైన మరీ పోలిసీంగ్ కూడా చెయ్యకూడదు.

తెలివితేటలు దేవుడిచ్చిన బహుమానం
మనం ఒక మిత్రుని పుట్టిన రోజు పార్టీకి వెళ్లామని అనుకుందాం. అతనికి మనమొక చక్కటి బహుమానం తీసుకెళ్ళతాము. ఈ బహుమానాన్ని మిత్రునికి ఇచ్చినప్పుడు, అతని దాన్ని దగ్గరున్న చేత్త బుట్టలోకి విసిరేస్తే, మనం ఏ విధంగా ఫీల్ అవుతాం. లాగి లెంపకాయ కొట్టాలి అన్నంత కోపం వస్తుంది. మనమిచ్చిన బహుమానాన్ని అవమానపరిస్తే,మనల్ని అవమానపరచినట్టు బాధ పడతాం. మరి తెలివితేటలు దేవుడు మనకి చ్చిన బహుమానం.ఈ తెలివితేటల్ని సరిగ్గా ఉపయోగించి మనం ఎదగకపోతే, దేవున్నే అవ మానపరిచినట్టు అవుతుంది కదా? ఈ విషయాన్ని అమ్మాయిలు గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. ఒకవేళ అమ్మాయి లు మరచి పోతే అమ్మానాన్నలు గుర్తు చేయ్యాలి.

నాకెలాంటి ప్రమాదం వాటిల్లదు
మరణం పట్ల అందరికుండే ఆలోచన మనందరికి తెలుసు. మరణం ఖాయమైనప్పటికి, ‘ఇది నాకు వర్తించదు మిగతా వాళ్ళకే ఇది పరిమితం. నేను చనిపోను. అని ప్రతి వ్యక్తి అనుకుంటాడు’ అని జొనాధన్ బ్రూనెస్టీన్ అనే ప్రముఖ ఫిజిషియన్ అంటాడు.

దీన్నే సైకాలజీలో ఎస్కేపిజం అని అంటాము. ఇలాంటి ఎస్కేపిజం మనం అడోలిసెంట్స్ దశలో గమనిస్తాం. ఈ దశలో ఉన్న పిల్లలు, అమ్మాయిలైన, అబ్బాయిలైనా చాలా రాష్‌గా ప్రవర్తిస్తారన్ని మనకు తెలిసిందే. నాకెలాంటి ప్రమాదం వాటిల్లదు, అనే ఆలోచన వీరిది. ఈ దశలో వీళ్ళ ఆరోగ్యం బ్రహ్మాండంగా ఉంటుంది. ఒకవేళ ఈ వయస్సులో మరణించడం జరిగితే, 40శాతం పైగా మోటారు ప్రమాదాల్లో జరుగుతుందని సర్వేలు తేలిపాయి. కేవలం మోటార్ సైకిల్స్, కార్లు వేగంగా నడపడమే కాదు, వీళ్ళ జీవితమే ఫాస్ట్‌లేన్‌లో ఉంటుంది. సెన్సేషన్ -సీకింగ్ వీళ్ళ వేదాంతం. అందుకే ఈ వయస్సులో అబ్బాయిలు, అమ్మాయిలు అనవసరమైన రిస్క్ తీసుకుంటారు. చీకటిపడ్డా ఒంటరిగా పోవాలను కుంటారు. ఫ్రెండ్స్ ఇంటికి వెళ్ళి సమయాన్ని పట్టించుకోకుండా ఇంటికి రావాలనుకుంటారు. నాకేమీ జరగదులే అని భావిస్తారు. అమ్మానాన్నలు, అమ్మాయిలను ఇలా ప్రవర్తించకుండా నియంత్రిం చాలి. ప్రస్తుతం మన సమాజంలో జరుగుతున్న వ్యవహారాలు మనందరి కళ్ళు తెరిపించాలి.

ప్రేమ ఒక ఎండమావి ఈ కాలంలో కొంతమంది అమ్మాయిల సమస్యల్లా, ప్రేమలో పడ్డామని భ్రాంతి పడడం. ఈ భ్రాంతి వీళ్లను , అబ్బాయిలైతే స్వేచ్ఛగా తిరిగేట్టు ప్రేరేపిస్తుంది. ప్రేమించాను అని అనుకున్న అబ్బాయిలైతే సినిమాలు, షికార్లు మొదలవుతాయి. అప్పుడు అమ్మానాన్నల మాటలు నీటి మూటలనిపిస్తాయి. చదువు కాస్తా చట్టబండలౌతుంది. నిజం చెప్పాలంటే ఈ వయస్సులోని అమ్మాయిల్లో చెలరేగే శారీరక ఉత్తేజాన్ని ప్రేమ అని నిర్వచించడం పొరపాటు. ఇది కేవలం ఈవయస్సులో శరీరాల్లో విడుదలవుతున్న హార్మోన్స్ ప్రభావం వల్ల, వీళ్ళలో కలిగే శారీరక ఉత్తేజం అని , ప్రేమ కాదని తెలుసుకోవాలి. అందుకే వీళ్ళు ప్రేమ అనుకునే ఈ మానసిక స్థితి ఎక్కువ కాలం నిలవదు. సైకాలజిస్ట్‌ల సర్వేల ప్రకారం అడోల్‌సెంట్స్ లో ప్రేమనుకొని దగ్గరయ్యేవాళ్ళు, అతి త్వరలోనే మళ్ళీ దూరమవుతారని తేలిపోయింది. అందుకే ప్రేమని భ్రమపడి, కొంతకాలం రాసుకొని,పూసుకొని తిరిగిన అమ్మాయిలు త్వరలోనే తెలుసుకొని, అబ్బాయిలనుండి విడిపోతారు. ఇటు అబ్బాయేమో, ‘మనసు పారేసుకున్నాను,సినిమాలకు, షికార్లకు ఈమెను తిప్పి నా మొత్తం డబ్బు తగలేసాను.

అయినప్పటికి ఈమె నాకు చెయ్యిచ్చింది.’ అనుకొని బాధపడతాడు. ఈ అబ్బాయి కాస్తా పోకిరి వాడైతే లేదా దుష్ట స్వభావం కలవాడైతే అమ్మాయికి ప్రమాదమే. ఇలాంటి అబ్బాయిలు యాసిడ్ దాడులు చేయ్యొచ్చు. ఇంకేదైనా దుష్ట చేష్టలు చేసే అవకాశం కూడా ఉంది. ఇలాంటి ప్రమాదం రాకుండా ఉండాలంటే, వయస్సులో ఉన్న అమ్మాయిలు ఎక్కువ సమయం అబ్బాయిలతో ఒంటరిగా కలిసి తిరుగకూడదు. గ్రూప్‌లో అందరితో కలిసి మాత్రమే మెలగాలి. అలాకాకుండా అమ్మాయి ఒంటరిగా అబ్బాయితో కలిసి తిరుగుతూ సమయం గడుపుతుందంటే, అమ్మానాన్నలు తెలుసుకుని తక్షణం రంగంలోకి దూకాలి. పనుల్లో మునిగి, ఆలస్యం చేయకూడదు.

Delhi gang-rape victim succumbs to injuries

The 23-year-old girl, who was gang-raped and brutally assaulted in a Delhi bus nearly a fortnight ago, died at a hospital in Singapore early Saturday. 

The girl who was admitted on Thursday morning at the multi-organ speciality facility, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, in an extremely critical condition here, died at 4:45 AM local time (2:15 AM Indian time), the hospital said in a statement. 

The hospital chief executive officer Dr Kelvin Loh said: “We are very sad to report that the patient passed away peacefully at 4.45 AM on 29 Dec 2012 (Singapore time). 

Her family and officials from the High Commission of India were by her side. 

The Mount Elizabeth Hospital team of doctors, nurses and staff join her family in mourning her loss,” Dr Loh added.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, హైదరాబాద్, డిసెంబర్ 28 (): న్యూఢిల్లీ, హైదరాబాద్, డిసెంబర్ 28 (టీ మీడియా): రాష్ట్రంలో దీర్ఘకాలంగా నలుగుతున్న తెలంగాణ అంశంపై నెలలోపు నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటామని కేంద్ర హోం మంత్రి సుశీల్ కుమార్ షిండే ప్రకటించారు. శుక్రవారం ఇక్కడ ఎనిమిది రాజకీయ పార్టీలతో జరిగిన అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశం అనంతరం ఆయన విలేకరులతో మాట్లాడారు. అన్ని రాజకీయ పార్టీల అభివూపాయాలను తాను జాగ్రత్తగా విన్నానని చెప్పారు. సమావేశానికి హాజరైన అన్ని పార్టీల ప్రతినిధులు తెలంగాణపై ఎంత త్వరగా వీలైతే అంత త్వరగా నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాలని సూచించారని తెలిపారు. కొందరు నెలలో నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాలని కోరారని చెప్పారు. ‘‘నేను అన్ని పార్టీల ప్రతినిధుల అభివూపాయాలను జాగ్రత్తగా విన్నాను. ఈ సమావేశం వివరాలను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి నివేదిస్తాను. ఒక నెలలోపు మేం ఒక ఫలితంతో వస్తాం.

నెలలోపు ఒక నిర్ణయం ఉంటుంది’’ అని షిండే చెప్పారు. అయితే.. తెలంగాణ విషయంలో నాన్చుడు ధోరణులకు, సాగదీత వ్యవహారాలకు పెట్టింది పేరైన కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని నమ్మేదిలేదని, అది ప్రకటించిన నెలగడువులోనూ మునుపెన్నడూ చూడని ఉధృత ఉద్యమాన్ని చవిచూపిస్తామని తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమకారులు అంటున్నారు. దాదాపు మూడేళ్లుగా కాంగ్రెస్ దోబూచులాటలను గమనిస్తున్నామని, ఇంకా మోసపోయే పరిస్థితి లేదని స్పష్టం చేస్తున్నారు. తెలంగాణ విషయంలో ఈ చివరి దశలోనూ మోసం చేస్తే తీవ్ర పర్యవసానాలు ఎదుర్కొనాల్సి ఉంటుందని హెచ్చరిస్తున్నారు. ఇదిలాఉండగా.. పీఐబీలో ఉంచిన అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశం వివరాల నోట్ కలకలం రేపింది. నెల రోజుల్లో తెలంగాణపై నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటామని పదే పదే షిండే తన విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో ఉద్ఘాటించగా.. పీఐబీ పోస్ట్ చేసిన కథనంలో ఆ ప్రస్తావనే లేకుండాపోయింది. ఒక దశలో షిండే తన మాట మార్చారని కూడా వాదనలు వచ్చాయి.

సాధారణంగా పీఐబీ కేంద్ర మంత్రుల మాటలకు ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చి ప్రకటన వెలువరిస్తుంటుంది. అయితే.. కీలకమైన ఈ సమావేశంలో అత్యంత కీలకమైన వ్యాఖ్యలుగా ఉన్న ‘నెల రోజుల్లోపు నిర్ణయం ఉంటుంది’ అన్న వాక్యాన్ని ప్రస్తావించకపోవడం పలు అనుమానాలకు దారి తీస్తున్నది. ఇదెలా ఉన్నప్పటికీ.. ప్రత్యేక తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఏర్పాటు డిమాండ్‌పై జరుగుతున్న ఉద్యమంతో గత కొద్ది సంవత్సరాలుగా ఆంధ్రవూపదేశ్ ప్రజలు సమస్యలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న విషయాన్ని తాను అర్థం చేసుకున్నానని షిండే విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో అన్నారు. రాష్ట్రంలోని యువత శాంతియుతంగా ఉండాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ‘‘యువత శాంతియుతంగా ఉండాలని కోరుతున్నాను. ఫలితం తప్పకుండా ఉంటుంది. ప్రభుత్వం ఒక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటుంది. ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకునే నిర్ణయం మంచిదే ఉంటుంది’’ అని ఆయన చెప్పారు. సమావేశంలో వివిధ పార్టీల ప్రతినిధులు ఏం చెప్పారో వెల్లడించేందుకు హోం మంత్రి తిరస్కరించారు.


‘‘జరిగినది ఇన్‌కెమెరా(బహిరంగం కాని) సమావేశం. ఆ వివరాలు చెప్పేందుకు ఇది వేదిక కాదు. ఈ సమావేశంలో వ్యక్తమైన అభివూపాయాలకు అనుగుణంగా తుది నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవడం జరుగుతుంది’’ అని తెలిపారు. తెలంగాణ అంశంపై ఇదే చివరి అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశమని ఆయన అన్నారు. సుహృద్భావపూర్వక వాతావరణంలో జరిగిన ఈ సమావేశంపై తాను పూర్తి సంతృప్తితో ఉన్నానని చెప్పారు. అన్ని పార్టీలూ తమ అభివూపాయాలను చెప్పాయని హోం మంత్రి తెలిపారు. తెలంగాణపై కేంద్రం తీసుకునే నిర్ణయంతో ఎంత మంది ప్రజలు సంతృప్తి చెందుతారన్న విలేకరుల ప్రశ్నకు.. ‘‘ఒక నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నప్పుడు కొంతమంది సంతృప్తి చెందుతారు. కొంతమందిలో అసంతృప్తి ఉంటుంది’’ అని బదులిచ్చారు. సమావేశంలో అన్ని పార్టీల ప్రతినిధులు చెప్పిన అభివూపాయాలను తాను రాసుకున్నానని తెలిపారు. నిర్ణయం తీసుకోబోయే ముందు వీటన్నింటినీ పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకోవడం జరుగుతుందని అన్నారు.
నెలలోపు తీసుకునే నిర్ణయం తుది నిర్ణయం అవుతుందా? అని విలేకరులు ప్రశ్నించగా.. నెల రోజుల్లో నిర్ణయం వస్తుందని చెప్పాను కదా.. అన్నారు. పార్టీలన్నీ సమన్వయంతో వ్యవహరించాయని చెబుతూ వాటిని అభినందించారు. అన్ని పార్టీలూ సంతృప్తితో సమావేశం నుంచి వెళ్లాయని చెప్పారు.

పదహారు మంది ప్రతినిధులు
రాష్ట్రంలోని ఎనిమిది రాజకీయ పార్టీల నుంచి పార్టీకి ఇద్దరు చొప్పున 16 మంది ప్రతినిధులు తెలంగాణపై కేంద్ర హోం శాఖ ఏర్పాటు చేసిన అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశానికి హాజరయ్యారు. శుక్రవారం ఉదయం పదిగంటలకు హోం మంత్రి షిండే కార్యాలయం ఉన్న నార్త్‌బ్లాక్‌లోని సమావేశ మందిరంలో అఖిలపక్షం మొదలైంది. కాంగ్రెస్ నుంచి రాష్ట్ర మాజీ స్పీకర్ కేఆర్ సురేష్‌డ్డి(తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతం), సీనియర్ నేత గాదె వెంకటడ్డి(సీమాంధ్ర ప్రాంతం) హాజరయ్యారు. టీడీపీ నుంచి సీనియర్ నేత కడియం శ్రీహరి(తెలంగాణ), మాజీ స్పీకర్ యనమల రామకృష్ణుడు(సీమాంధ్ర) వచ్చారు. సీపీఐ ప్రతినిధులుగా ఆ పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర కార్యదర్శి నారాయణ, ఎమ్మెల్యే గుండా మల్లేష్ పాల్గొన్నారు.

Future terrorists to come from Hindu, Christian religions too: US report

An official US report has warned that future terrorists could come from many different religions, including Christianity and Hinduism. The reports added that right-wing and left-wing ideological groups will also pose threats.

The report, however said it hopes that the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq and a reduced military presence in Afghanistan will also decrease the terrorists'' ability to use America for stirring up Muslim anger, reports The Dawn.

 "The Future of Terrorism" is part of a larger report that studies global trends between now and 2030. The report stated that US support for Israel could be the last remaining major focus of Muslim anger. It further said that several circumstances are ending the current Islamist phase of terrorism, indicating that "the recent religious wave is receding and could end by 2030".

It further said that terrorism is unlikely to die completely because it has no single cause. The report stated that although Al-Qaeda and others have focused on the United States as a clear enemy, the appeal of the United States as the "great enemy" is declining. According to the report, moral resurgence of secular democracy in the Arab world will also help defuse terrorism as the Arab uprisings were non-violent struggles.

 It added that future generations in the Arab and Muslim worlds may not agree with the perceptions of the older generations and may not want to carry on their battles. The report stated that many states might continue to use terrorist groups; exploiting terrorist movements out of a strong sense of insecurity. It claimed that states such as Pakistan and Iran feel threatened by what they perceive as stronger, threatening powers in their regions or globally.


Therefore, they seek asymmetric options to assert power and deter attack; using terrorist groups as proxies and pursuing nuclear weapons are two such asymmetric tools. However, the report concludes by saying that international disapproval of state support for terrorist movements has increased significantly, and the costs to a regime of directly supporting terrorists looks set to become even greater as international cooperation increases

Muslim women on top in the battle against premarital sex: US Study

The burqa really works. When you cover your women head to toe with cloth to keep them from being viewed by men outside their family, and you keep them strictly segregated from men throughout their growing years until they get married, you’re going to have less premarital sex.

That was the Rev Paul Sullins’ reaction to a new study on sex outside marriage. Sullins is a sociologist at the Catholic University of America.

With their “True Love Waits” jewelry, conferences and T-shirts, Christians may be the face of the abstinence movement, but Muslims are more likely to abstain from premarital sex.

Of all the world's major religious groups, Muslims are the least likely to have sex outside of marriage, new research found. And as a country's Muslim population grows, the rate of premarital sex declines for all residents, even non-Muslims, according to the study.

Researchers analyzed the responses of over 620,000 people (ages 15-59) who were interviewed as part of the Demographic and Health Surveys in 31 mostly developing nations from 2000 to 2008. Most countries included in the sample had either a Muslim or Christian majority, except India and Nepal, which have Hindu majorities, and Cambodia which has a Buddhist majority. (The United States was not included in the study.)

That’s the conclusion of a new study in the American Sociological Review, which also found that Muslims and Hindus — at least in the developing world — are more likely than Christians and Jews to refrain from extramarital sex.

“All major world religions discourage sex outside of marriage, but they are not all equally effective in shaping behavior,” said Amy Adamczyk of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, who co-authored the study with John Jay doctoral student Brittany E. Hayes.

Adamczyk said the study evolved from another study she was doing that found countries with large Muslim populations have very low rates of HIV and AIDS. “I was trying to figure out why that would be,” she said. One reason she considered was lower rates of sex outside of marriage.

“In many countries around the world — but in Muslim countries specifically, there’s just much less interaction between the sexes,” said Adamczyk. “It’s just going to be much less likely that they’re going to meet a potentially romantic partner.”

Drawing on the Demographic and Health Surveys funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the study included data from 31 developing nations collected between 2000 and 2008. The authors focused on individuals’ responses to questions on religious affiliation, marital status, and sexual behavior outside of marriage.

The authors hypothesized that the larger the proportion of Muslims and Hindus in a country, the lower the rates of premarital and extramarital sex.

Adamczyk and Hayes found that 94 percent of Jews in the nations they studied reported having premarital sex, compared to 79 percent of Christians, 65 percent of Buddhists and 43 percent of Muslims.

As for extramarital sex, 4 percent of Jews reported having sex outside of marriage, compared to 3 percent of Christians. Less than one percent each of Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists reported having extramarital sex.

Suzy Ismail, a marriage and divorce counselor and the author of several books on Muslim marriage, said low rates of premarital and extramarital sex among Muslims are rooted in the religion.

తెలంగాణ సమస్యను పరిష్కరించాలని కోరే పార్టీలే.. సమస్యను ఎప్పటికప్పుడు మరింత జటిలం చేస్తూ పోతున్న వైచివూతికి రాష్ట్ర రాజకీయాలు అద్దంపడుతున్నాయి. వైఖరి చెప్పేసిన పార్టీ లు బిందాస్. ప్రత్యేక రాష్ట్ర సాధనకే పుట్టిన టీఆర్‌ఎస్ వైఖరి విస్పష్టంగా ఉంది. సమైక్యవాదం నుంచి జై తెలంగాణ నినాదం అందుకున్న సీపీఐ.. రాష్ట్ర సాధన సమరంలో దూసుకుపోతున్నది. పార్లమెంటులో బిల్లు పెడితే ఆమోదం పొందేందుకు బేషరతు సహకారానికి బీజేపీ సై అంది. హైదరాబాద్ సహిత తెలంగాణ లేదా రాయల తెలంగాణ అని ఎంఐఎం తేల్చి చెప్పింది. తాను సమైక్యవాదినేనని సీపీఎం కుండబద్దలు కొట్టేసింది! ఇక మిగిలింది మూడు పార్టీలే. తెలంగాణపై ఆది నుంచి దోబూచులాడుతున్న ఆ పార్టీలకే ఇప్పుడు సంకట స్థితి. అందుకే ఈసారి జరిగే అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశం ఆ మూడు పార్టీల్లో గుబులురేపుతున్నది. తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం విషయంలో ‘డిసెంబర్ 9’ ప్రకటన శిలాశాసనంగా యావత్ తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతం విశ్వసిస్తున్నది. ఏనాడో సిద్ధించిన రాష్ట్రాన్ని ఆచరణలోకి తేవడమే మిగిలిన ఎజెండాగా భావిస్తున్నది. ఈ క్రమంలోనే అడ్డుపడుతున్న పార్టీలకు అల్టిమేటాలు జారీ అవుతున్నాయి.

తెలంగాణ విషయంలో దోబూచులను నమ్మబోమని తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు ఇప్పటికే తమ తీర్పులు వెలువరించారు. వరుస ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో తెలంగాణవాదానికి పట్టంగట్టారు. వ్యతిరేక పార్టీల శవపేటికలకు ఒక్కో ఉప ఎన్నికలో ఒక్కో మేకు దించుతూ వచ్చారు. ఇక పతాక సన్నివేశం!! అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయడం వెనుక ఉన్న అనేక మతలబులను తెలంగాణ సమాజం చూసింది. కేంద్రంలో తన ఉనికిని ప్రశ్నార్థకం చేసిన ఎఫ్‌డీఐల ఓటింగ్ గండం నుంచి గట్టెక్కేందుకే ఈ అఖిలపక్షం హామీ వచ్చిందన్నది జగమెరిగిన సత్యం. అఖిలపక్షంతో సాధించేది ఏమీ లేదని, ఇది కేవలం కొత్త హోం మంత్రి సుశీల్ కుమార్ షిండే అవగాహన కోసం ఏర్పాటు చేసిందేనంటూ రాష్ట్ర కాంగ్రెస్ వ్యవహారాల మంత్రి గులాం నబీ ఆజాద్ తేల్చిపారేశారు. ఈ సమావేశం ఉత్తుత్తిదేనని హోం శాఖ వర్గాలు లీకులు కూడా ఇచ్చాయి.

అయితే సూక్ష్మంలో మోక్షం అన్నట్లు.. ఈ సమావేశం తెలంగాణవాదానికి ఒక మూలమలుపుగా కూడా మారనుంది. ఇప్పటి వరకూ కాంగ్రెస్, టీడీపీ, వైఎస్సార్సీపీ తెలంగాణకు వ్యతిరేకం కాదని చెబుతూ వస్తున్నాయి. టీడీపీ ఒక అడుగు ముందుకు వేసి.. అఖిలపక్షం ఏర్పాటు చేస్తే అందులోనే తమ అభివూపాయం చెబుతామని ప్రకటనలు చేసింది. ఇప్పుడు సమయం వచ్చింది. తాము ప్రత్యేక తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఏర్పాటుకు వ్యతిరేకం కాదన్న వాదననైనా ఆ పార్టీలు చెప్పాల్సిన పరిస్థితి వచ్చింది. వైఖరి చెప్పకపోతే తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతంలో ఈ మూడు పార్టీలను సమాధి చేయడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నామని ఇప్పటికే తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమక్షిశేణులు స్పష్టమైన సంకేతాలు ఇచ్చి ఉన్నాయి. ముసుగులో గుద్దులాటలను ఇక విశ్వసించే స్థితిలో ఈ ప్రాంతం ప్రజలు లేరని వెల్లడైపోయింది. అందుకే ఈ గండం నుంచి గట్టెక్కేందుకు రాజకీయ పార్టీలు మల్లగుల్లాలు పడుతున్నాయి. అయితే.. తమ వైఖరి చెప్పకుండా తప్పించుకునేందుకు మార్గాన్వేషణ చేస్తున్న ఈ మూడు పార్టీలు.. నెపాన్ని ఎదుటివారిపైకి నెట్టేసే ఆలోచన చేస్తున్నాయని ఆయా పార్టీల నేతల వ్యాఖ్యలను బట్టి అర్థమ వుతోంది.

మొత్తంగా టీడీపీ, వైఎస్సార్సీపీలు కాంగ్రెస్‌ను దోషిగా నిలబెట్టేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తాయన్న చర్చ జరుగుతోంది. తెలంగాణ సమస్య మూలాలను తెలుసుకునేందుకు షిండే ఈ సమావేశం ఏర్పాటు చేశారని భావించే పరిస్థితి లేదు. మొత్తంగా రాజకీయ పార్టీలుగా అవి తెలంగాణపై ఏ దృష్టితో ఉన్నాయో తెలుసుకోవడం ఈ ‘అవగాహన’ సమావేశం ఉద్దేశంగా చెబుతున్నారు. కాబట్టి ఈ మూడు పార్టీలు తమ వైఖరిని చెప్పాల్సిన పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది. అందుకే ఈ సమావేశం ఆ మూడు పార్టీలకు జీవవన్మరణ సమస్యగానే మారుతోంది. కాంగ్రెస్, వైఎస్సార్సీపీ, టీడీపీ మినహా అన్ని పార్టీలు తమ వైఖరిని ఇప్పటికే స్పష్టం చేయడంతో, ఈ సమావేశంలో కచ్చితంగా సమాధానం చెప్పాల్సిన బాధ్యత కూడా ఇప్పుడు ఆ మూడు పార్టీలపై ఉంది. బాధ్యత నెరవేరుస్తాయా? భవిష్యత్తును చేజేతులా నాశనం చేసుకుంటాయా? అనేది ఆ పార్టీలు వెల్లడించే వైఖరిపైనే ఆధారపడి ఉంటుందనేది నిపుణుల విశ్లేషణ. వ్యతిరేకం కాదన్న మాటనే స్పష్టగా చెప్పి.. తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటుకు అడ్డం తప్పుకోవాలనేది నాలుగు కోట్ల తెలంగాణ ప్రజల ఆకాంక్ష! పార్టీ వైఖరిని తేల్చి.. తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతంలో మనుగడకు అవకాశం కల్పించాలనేది ఆ మూడు పార్టీల్లోని తెలంగాణ నేతల ఆశ! అందుకే అందరి దృష్టీ అఖిలపక్షంపైనే!!

Singapore-bound, borne by a billion prayers

In a sudden move, the 23-year-old gang-rape victim was shifted from the capital’s Safdarjung Hospital at around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday and flown out of the country in a special air-ambulance to Singapore. 

She was accompanied by her family members and a team of doctors. 

The victim will be admitted to Mt. Elizabeth Hospital in the city state, which has a super-speciality multi-organ transplant facility. 

The relatively short journey time to Singapore helped in making the decision, sources said. 

The government has made arrangements for the family’s stay in Singapore as the treatment is expected to take a while. 

Addressing the media late at night, Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. B. D. Athani said: “The victim is strong but her condition continues to be critical. She had extensive abdominal and intestinal injuries and despite three life-saving operations and best treatment by a team of doctors from Safdarjung, All-India Institute of Medical Sciences and G.B. Pant Hospital, her condition continued to be critical. After evaluation, the team decided that it was best to shift the patient abroad for treatment.” 

The patient was shifted out of Safdarjung Hospital amid tight security around 10.30 p.m. Three fully-equipped ambulances were lined up on the hospital premises and one of them moved the patient out. The move came after the patient endured a tough night on Tuesday, with a senior official in the Health Ministry stating that the girl’s condition had deteriorated with her pulse rate dropping considerably, forcing her doctors at Safdarjung Hospital to seek assistance from cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Naresh Trehan and physicians at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to revive and stabilise the patient. 

The official added: “Her pulse rate had suddenly reduced to below 50-per-minute but she was revived.” 

Earlier in the day, doctors at Safdarjung Hospital remained tight-lipped about her condition and even skipped the daily routine of issuing a health bulletin. Refusing to give any details about the patient, Dr. Athani, when asked about the girl’s condition in the evening, said: “I don’t know.” 

Also, the patient’s family members who were previously talking to the press refused to interact. 

The hospital authorities also did not confirm any news about the deterioration in the patient’s condition. 

There was much speculation on the patient’s condition on Wednesday after the Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent postponed the routine daily press conference at 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. There was no briefing at 6.30 p.m. either. 

Moreover, police presence in and outside the hospital was beefed up.

ఇండియా గేట్ వద్ద మావోయిస్టులు వచ్చి ఆందోళన చేసినా ప్రభుత్వం స్పందించాలా? అని ప్రశ్నించారు. మరోవైపు ఈ ఘటనకు సంబంధించి ఇద్దరు ఏసీపీలపై ఢిల్లీ ప్రభుత్వం సస్పెన్షన్ వేటు వేసింది. గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ కేసులో పోలీసులు దర్యాప్తును ముమ్మరం చేశారు. ఢిల్లీలో సోమవారం ఎక్కడ చూసినా భద్రతా వలయాలు కనిపించాయి. ఆందోళనలు తగ్గుముఖం పట్టాయి.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, డిసెంబర్ 24:యువతి సామూహిక అత్యాచార ఘటనపై దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రజాక్షిగహం వెల్లు నేపథ్యంలో ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలకు ఉపక్షికమించింది. ఈ కేసులో సత్వర విచారణ చేపట్టాలని నిర్ణయించింది. ఇందుకుగాను ఫాస్ట్‌వూటాక్ కోర్టుల ఏర్పాటు విషయమై కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి సుశీల్‌కుమార్‌షిండే, ఢిల్లీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి షీలాదీక్షిత్ సోమవారం చీఫ్ జస్టిస్ మురుగేశన్‌తో భేటీ అయి చర్చించారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో జనవరి మొదటి వారంలో హస్తినలో ఐదు ఫాస్ట్‌వూటాక్ కోర్టులు ప్రారంభం కానున్నాయని ఢిల్లీ హైకోర్టు చీఫ్ జస్టిస్ డీ మురుగేశన్ మీడియాకు ధ్రువీకరించారు. ఇటీవలి గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటన సహా.. అత్యాచార కేసుల్లో రోజువారీ విచారణ జరిపేందుకు ఈ కోర్టులు ఏర్పాటు కానున్నాయి. సెలవుల అనంతరం హైకోర్టు జనవరి 2న తిరిగి ప్రారంభం కానుంది. ఆ వెంటనే ఫాస్ట్‌వూటాక్ కోర్టుల ఏర్పాటుకు సంబంధించి నోటిఫికేషన్ వెలువడనుంది. మరోవైపు గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటనకు సంబంధించి ఢిల్లీ ప్రభుత్వం ఇద్దరు అసిస్టెంట్ కమిషనర్లపై సస్పెన్షన్ వేటు వేసింది.

ఈ నెల 16న నడుస్తున్న బస్సులో 23 ఏళ్ల యువతిపై జరిగిన కిరాతక సామూహిక అత్యాచారం ఘటనపై ఢిల్లీ సహా, దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఆందోళనలు జరుగుతున్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఈ ఆందోళనల నేపథ్యంలో అమెరికాలో ఉన్న ఢిల్లీ లెప్టినెంట్ గవర్నర్ తేజిందర్ కన్నా తన పర్యటనను అర్ధాంతరంగా కుదించుకొని, నగరానికి చేరుకున్నారు. ఆ వెంటనే సీనియర్ పోలీసు అధికారులు, మహిళా సంఘాల ప్రతినిధులతో చర్చలు జరిపారు. దేశ రాజధానిలో మహిళల భద్రతకు అనుసరించాల్సిన కార్యాచరణ ప్రణాళికపై చర్చించారు. మరోవైపు గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ కేసులో వారం రోజుల్లోగా చార్జిషీట్ దాఖలు చేస్తామని పోలీసులు వెల్లడించారు. ఈ ఘటనకు కారణమైన ఆరుగురు నిందితులపై దర్యాప్తు వేగవంతంగా సాగుతోందని తెలిపారు. ఆదివారం నాటి హింసాత్మక ఆందోళనకు సంబంధించి పోలీసులు నాలుగు కేసులు నమోదుచేశారు. అలర్లకు ప్రోత్సహించారని, హింసకు ప్రేరేపించారనిఆర్మీ మాజీ చీఫ్ వీకేసింగ్,బాబా రాందేవ్‌పై కేసులు పెట్టారు.

జస్టిస్ వర్మ కమిటీ పని మొదలు
లైంగిక దాడుల కేసుల్లో సత్వర న్యాయం, దోషులకు శిక్ష పెంపుదల విషయమై ప్రస్తుతమున్న చట్టాలను సమీక్షించడానికి ఏర్పాటైన ముగ్గురు న్యాయకోవిదులతో కూడిన జస్టిస్ వర్మ కమిటీ సోమవారం తన పనిని ప్రారంభించింది. ఈ అంశంపై జనవరి 5న ప్రజాభివూపాయాన్ని తెలియజేయాలని కమిటీ నోటీసును జారీచేసింది.

కానిస్టేబుల్ పరిస్థితి విషమం :
ఢిల్లీ గేట్ వద్ద నిరసనల సందర్భంగా చెలరేగిన ఘర్షణలోగాయపడిన పోలీస్ కానిస్టేబుల్ పరిస్థితి ఇంకా విషమంగా ఉంది. ఆయనకు వెంటిలేటర్ సౌకర్యం కొనసాగుతోందని వైద్యులు సోమవారం తెలిపారు.

ఆపదలో ఆదుకునే ‘167’
అత్యాచార నిరోధానికి ఢిల్లీలో ఓ హెల్ఫ్‌లైన్ ప్రారంభంకాబోతోంది. 167 నంబర్‌తో ఈ సేవలు త్వరలోనే అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నాయి. ఆపదలో ఉన్న మహిళలు ఆ నెంబర్‌కు ఫోన్ చేయగానే క్షణాల్లో పోలీసులు అక్కడికి చేరుకుని వారి రక్షించే ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తున్నట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. ముఖ్యమంత్రి షీలా దీక్షిత్ విజ్ఞప్తి మేరకు టెలికంశాఖ మూడు అంకెల హెల్ఫ్‌లైన్‌ను కేటాయించిందని సోమవారం కేంద్ర టెలికం శాఖ ఓ ప్రకటనలో పేర్కొంది.

యువతి గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటన నేపథ్యంలో ఆందోళన చెందవద్దని, మహిళల భద్రత సంబంధించి అన్ని చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నామని ప్రధానమంత్రి మన్మోహన్‌సింగ్ పేర్కొన్నారు. శాంతియుతంగా ఉండాలని ఆందోళనకారులకు మరోసారి విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ఆయన సోమవారం దేశ ప్రజలను ఉద్దేశించి ప్రసంగించారు.‘ముగ్గురు కుమ్తాలకు తండ్రిగా నేనూ మీలాగే ఆందోళన చెందుతున్నా. ఈ కిరాతక నేరానికి బాధితురాలిగా మారిన యువతి పట్ల నా భార్య, కుటుంబం కూడా ఆందోళన చెందుతోంది’ అని చెప్పారు. ఈ ఘోరమైన ఘాతుకానికి సంబంధించి జరిగిన జాప్యంపై పరిశీలన జరుపుతామని, మహిళల భద్రతకు సంబంధించి అన్ని విషయాలను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుంటామని తెలిపారు. ఆందోళనల్లో హింసాత్మక ఘటనలు చోటుచేసుకోవడం వల్ల ఎలాంటి ప్రయోజనం ఉండదన్నారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, డిసెంబర్ 24: గ్యాంగ్‌రేప్ ఘటనపై రగిలిపోయి ఉద్యమిస్తున్న ఆందోళనకారులను ఉద్దేశించి కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి సుశీల్‌కుమార్‌షిండే వివాదాస్పద వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. ఇండియాగేట్ వద్ద ఆగ్రహంతో దాడులకు దిగిన ఆందోళనకారులను మావోయిస్టులతో పోల్చారు. గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటనపై వెల్లు ప్రజాక్షిగహాన్ని అర్థం చేసుకోలేక రాజకీయపార్టీలు సతమతమవుతున్న తరుణంలో ఆయన ఈ వ్యాఖ్యలు చేయడం గమనార్హం. ‘‘ హోంమంత్రి ఇండియా గేట్ దగ్గరికెళ్లి.. చర్చలు జరపాలని చెప్పడం చాలా సులువు. రేపొద్దున్న ఏదైనా పార్టీ కూడా ప్రదర్శన నిర్వహిస్తే..అప్పుడు కూడా హోంమంత్రి వెళ్లాల్సిందే. రేపొద్దున్న కాంగ్రెస్, బీజేపీ కూడా ఇక్కడ ప్రదర్శనలు నిర్వహిస్తాయి. మావోయిస్టులు కూడా ఆయుధాలతో ప్రదర్శనలు నిర్వహిస్తారు’’ అని ఆయన వివిధ ఇంటర్వ్యూలలో పేర్కొన్నారు. ‘‘ఈ పరిస్థితి రేపొద్దున్న ఏ ప్రభుత్వానికైనా రావచ్చు. ప్రభుత్వం ఎందుకు వెళ్లాలి?’’ అని ప్రశ్నించారు. ఆందోళనకారులను మావోయిస్టులతో పోలుస్తున్నారా? అని ప్రశ్నించగా ‘‘శాంతి భద్రతల నుంచి దీనిని వేరు చేయలేరు. ఆందోళన మొదలైననాటి నుంచి నిరసనకారుల ప్రతినిధులతో నేను మాట్లాడుతూనే ఉన్నాను.

వారు న్యాయం కోరుతున్నారు. ఏ రకమైన న్యాయం మేమివ్వగలం’’ అని అన్నారు. ఇండియా గేట్ వద్ద ఆదివారం జరిగిన హింసాత్మక ఆందోళన వెనుక రాజకీయ శక్తులు ఉన్నాయని ఆరోపించారు. దీనిపై విచారణ జరుపుతున్నామని తెలిపారు. జనవరి నాలుగున అన్ని రాష్ట్రాల డీజీపీలు, ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శులతో సమావేశం నిర్వహించి.. మహిళలపై జరుగుతున్న దాడులు, అత్యాచారాలపై చర్చిస్తామని చెప్పారు. ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ మహిళలు లైంగిక హింసకు గురవుతున్నారని, ఈ అంశాన్ని పరిశీలిస్తామని చెప్పారు. ఢిల్లీలో యువతి గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటనపై పార్లమెంటు ప్రత్యేక సమావేశాలు నిర్వహించాలి లేదా, అఖిలపక్షం భేటీ నిర్వహించాలన్న డిమాండ్‌ను ఆయన తోసిపుచ్చారు. ఆయన సోమవారం ఢిల్లీ హైకోర్టు ప్రధాన న్యాయమూర్తితో భేటీ అయ్యారు. ఇటీవల గ్యాంగ్ రేప్ ఘటనతోపాటు మహిళలపై లైంగిక దాడులపై విచారణకు ఫాస్ట్‌వూటాక్ కోర్టులు ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని ఆయన చీఫ్ జస్టిస్‌కు విజ్ఞప్తిచేశారు. అత్యాచారాలపై సత్వర విచారణ, శిక్ష పెంపు విషయమై ప్రస్తుతమున్న చట్టాలను సమీక్షించడానికి ఏర్పాటు చేసిన కమిటీకి నివేదిక సమర్పించడానికి నెల రోజులపాటు గడువు ఇచ్చినట్టు తెలిపారు. రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్‌వైపు దూసుకొచ్చిన ఆందోళనకారులపై పోలీసుల అణచివేతను షిండే సమర్థించారు. ఆందోళనకారులు రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్‌ను ముట్టడించేందుకు ప్రయత్నించడం సరికాదని పేర్కొన్నారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, డిసెంబర్ 24: ‘గ్యాంగ్ రేపుకు గురైన పారామెడికల్ విద్యార్థి ఆరోగ్య పరిస్థితి సోమవారం మరింత దిగజారింది. ఆమె ఇంకా ప్రమాదం నుంచి బయటపడలేదు’ అని సఫ్దర్‌జంగ్ ఆస్పత్రి వర్గాలు వెల్లడించాయి. కానీ, ఆ యువతి మానసికంగా దృఢంగానే ఉన్నారని తెలిపాయి. నిన్నటికన్నా పరిస్థితి ఏ మాత్రం మెరుగుపడలేదని ఆమెకు వైద్యం అందిస్తున్న సఫ్దర్‌జంగ్ ఆస్పత్రి సూపరింటెండెంట్ డాక్టర్ బీడీ అథానీ తెలిపారు. అంతర్గతంగా రక్తవూసావం అధికమైందన్నారు. అది గడ్డకట్టి కొత్త సమస్యలు సృష్టిస్తోందని చెప్పారు. గత రాత్రికూడా విపరీతంగా రక్తవూసావం జరిగిందన్నారు.

ప్రస్తుతం ఆమెకు ఇంకా కృత్రిమంగానే శ్వాసను అందిస్తున్నామని తెలిపారు. డిసెంబర్ 16న ఢిల్లీలో నడుస్తున్న బస్సులో గ్యాంగ్ రేపు ఘటన తర్వాత ఈ పారా మెడికల్ విద్యార్థినిని (23) వైద్య చికిత్స కోసం సఫ్దర్‌జంగ్ ఆస్పవూతిలో చేర్పించిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. అప్పటి నుంచి వైద్యం అందిస్తున్న డాక్టర్లు ఆ ఆమ్మాయి ఇంకా ప్రమాదం నుంచి బయటపడలేదని వెల్లడించారు. ఉష్ణోక్షిగత 102 నుంచి 104 డిగ్రీల మధ్య ఉంటోందన్నారు. బైలిర్బిన్ లెవల్ 5.5 శాతానికి తగ్గిందన్నారు. ప్లెట్‌పూట్స్ కూడా తగ్గాయని చెప్పారు. ఇది ప్రమాదకర పరిస్థితిని సూచిస్తోందని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. మిగతా అవయవాలు సాధారణంగానే పని చేస్తున్నాయని, చికిత్సకు బాగానే స్పందిస్తున్నాయని వివరించారు. ఆమెకు సైకాలాజీ కౌన్సెలింగ్ ఇంకా కొనసాగుతోందని సైకాలాజీ విభాగం డాక్టర్ రస్తోగీ చెప్పారు. అంతర్గతంగా ఎన్నిగాయాలైనా ఆమె మాత్రం ఎలాంటి ఒత్తిడికి, ఆందోళనకు గురికావడంలేదని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఆ యువతి పరిస్థితి ఇంకా విషమంగానే ఉందని, ప్రమాదం నుంచి బయటపడలేదని ఐసీయూ ఇన్‌చార్జి డాక్టర్ పీకే వర్మ తెలిపారు. ఆమె పరిస్థితి అలాగే కొనసాగుతోందని వివరించారు. కాగా, ఆందోళనకారులు శాంతియుతంగా ఉండాలని బాధితురాలి తండ్రి సోమవారం విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు

Crackdown mutes protest

Students requesting police personnel to allow them to protest against the recent gang-rape, in New Delhi,

A day after the violent face-off between the police and protesters over the gang-rape of a 23-year-old student, the government managed to contain the protests which continued in muted forms at Jantar Mantar here on Monday. 

With all connecting roads to India Gate blocked and nine metro stations around Jantar Mantar shut down, traffic was thrown completely out of gear and commuters had a tough time travelling to their workplaces. Busy metro stations such as Rajiv Chowk, Race Course, Udyog Bhavan, Khan Market and Pragati Maidan, that were close to Central government offices remained shut and employees had to walk long distances to their offices. 

Earlier in the morning, the police had prevented the protesters from marching towards India Gate and instead diverted them to Jantar Mantar which is the only spot that has been exempted from prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Cr.PC. 

The protesters, which mostly included students with no apparent political affiliation besides the All-India Students’ Association (AISA) and All-India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA), shouted slogans against the government alleging that it has completely failed to ensure safe public space to women and justice to victims of sexual assault. 

Under pressure for visible action due to relentless protests, Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna announced immediate suspension of Assistant Commissioners of Police Mohan Singh and Yad Ram for failure to prevent the gruesome incident. Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said the charge-sheet in the case would be filed in the next seven days.

Victim still critical

 

Releasing the health bulletin of the gang rape victim, Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent B.D. Athani said: “The patient is conscious, critical and is still not out of danger.

 She continues to be on the ventilator and has high grade fever which could be because of the sepsis and is a matter of concern. There has been no improvement in her condition.’’

Here's a look at world's biggest pvt jet of Saudi royals

It was earlier reported that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bib Talal al-Saud is about to take delivery of an Airbus A380, the world’s biggest private jet. Here is an interior view of the Airbus A380.

The same model is used by Singapore Airlines and Emirates and can fly 800 passengers 8,000 miles ( 12,874 km) before refuelling. 

But the Saudi prince doesn’t need 800 seats, so he will have them removed to make room for an opulent, marble- finished Turkish bath and a parking space for his Rolls- Royce.

Saudi billionaire soon take delivery of the world's first customised A380 superjumbo, dubbed "the flying palace" for its luxury.

Alwaleed, estimated to be worth around $26 billion, has reportedly paid $485 million for the world's biggest private jet expected for delivery next year.

The A380 jumbo is believed to include four-poster beds, a Turkish bath, storage space for a Rolls-Royce, a boardroom, a concert hall, five suites with king-size beds, a prayer room featuring "computer generated prayer mats" which face Makkah and a lift between floors on all three levels.

Airbus Middle East president Habib Fekih confirmed on the sidelines of an aviation conference in Dubai that the aircraft would be delivered to the Saudi billionaire next year. "The A380 is planned for next year 2013," he said.

This is currently the only A380 luxury business jet on order but Fekih said he expected interest to grow.

Text of PM’s statement on Delhi gang-rape issue

Following is the text of the statement made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday, December 24, 2012 on the gang-rape issue:

“My fellow citizens, 

“There is genuine and justified anger and anguish at the ghastly crime of gang-rape committed last Sunday in Delhi. As a father of three daughters myself, I feel as strongly about this as each one of you.

“My wife, my family and I are all joined in our concern for the young woman who was the victim of this heinous crime.

We are constantly monitoring her medical condition. Let us all pray for her and her loved ones during this critical time.

“I also feel deeply sad at the turn of events leading to clashes between protesters and police forces. Anger at this crime is justified but violence will serve no purpose. I appeal to all concerned citizens to maintain peace and calm. I assure you that we will make all possible efforts to ensure security and safety of women in this country. 

The Home Minister has already spoken about the steps being taken.

“We will examine without delay not only the responses to this terrible crime but also all aspects concerning the safety of women and children and punishment to those who commit these monstrous crimes. Our Government will keep you informed of the steps we are taking and the processes we are following.

“I appeal to all sections of society to maintain peace and help us in our efforts.”

పెన్సిల్ హిస్టరీ - Pencil History

హోంవర్క్ చేయాలంటే పెన్ను కావాలి. బొమ్మలు గీయాలంటే.. పెన్సిల్ కంపల్సరీ! మరి పెన్సిల్ ఎలా తయారయిందో.. ఆ కథాకమామీషు ఏంటో తెలుసా? ఇంగ్లాండ్‌లో జోసెఫ్ డిక్సన్ అనే ఓ పేదవాడు ఇల్లు గడవడానికి చిన్న దుకాణంలో పనికి కుదిరాడు. యజమాని చెప్పింది గుర్తు పెట్టుకునేందుకు ఏం చెయ్యాలో తెలియక, ఓ నల్లటిరాయితో గోడమీద రాసుకునేవాడు. ఆరోజు నుంచీ క్రమం తప్పకుండా డిక్సన్ యజమాని చెప్పిన విషయాలను గోడమీద నల్లరాయితో రాసేవాడు. ఆ నల్లటిరాయే ‘గ్రాఫైట్’. రోజులు గడుస్తుండగా డిక్సన్‌కు ఓ చిన్న ఆలోచన వచ్చింది. ఆ గ్రాఫైట్ రాయిని పొడి చేసి కొంచెం ముద్దగా ఉండటానికి ఆముదం లాంటి పదార్థాన్ని కలిపి, దాన్ని ఒక గొట్టంలోకి ఎక్కించి బాగా ఎండిన తర్వాత రాసి చూశాడు. బాగానే ఉంది. కానీ.. కొంచెం బరువుగా ఉండి రాసేందుకు అంత వీలుకాలేదు.

అంతేకాదు చేతులు కూడా నల్లగా తయారయ్యాయి. దీంతో చాలా ప్రయోగాలు చేశాడు. కొద్ది రోజుల తర్వాత ఒక ఉపాయం తట్టింది. ఒక సన్నటి కొయ్యముక్కని తీసుకుని దానికి ఒక చిన్న రంధ్రం చేసి ముద్దగా ఉన్న గ్రాఫైట్‌ను అందులో నింపి, బాగా ఎండిన తర్వాత రాశాడు డిక్సన్. అంతే ఒక్కసారిగా ఆశ్చర్యపోయాడు. అద్భుతంగా రాస్తోంది అది కూడా సన్నగా. చేతులకు నలుపు అంటకపోవడం, వేగంగా రాయడంలాంటి లక్షణాలు కలిగిన దాన్ని చూసి చాలా సంతోషపడ్డాడు డిక్సన్. అలా పెన్సిల్ తయారైంది. గ్రాఫైట్ అనేది కర్బన సమ్మేళనం. మొదట్లో పెన్సిళ్లు గుండ్రంగా వచ్చేవి. తర్వాత మరెన్నో మార్పులతో ఇప్పుడు రకరకాల పెన్సిళ్లు మార్కెట్‌లో దర్శనమిస్తున్నాయి.

96 ఏళ్ల వయసులో రెండో బిడ్డకు తండ్రితాతా పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటావా? అనడిగితే.. బోసినోటితో చిరునవ్వులొలికిస్తూ.. ఈ వయసులో నాకెవరు పిల్లనిస్తార్రా? అంటూ సిగ్గుపడిపోయే తాతల గురించి తెలిసిందే! కానీ.. ఈయన మాత్రం అలాంటి తాతకాదు.. 96 ఏళ్ల వయసులోనూ ఓ బిడ్డకు జన్మనివ్వగలిగిన ముదుసలి! పెద్ద వయసులో తండ్రి అయి.. ప్రపంచ రికార్డు నెలకొల్పిన ఈయన పేరు రాంజీత్ రాఘవ్! హర్యానాలోని సోనిపేటలో ఖర్‌ఖోడా అనే గ్రామానికి చెందిన ఈయన సాధించిన ఘనత గురించి అందరికీ తెలిసిందే. కాకపోతే.. తన ఘనత వెనుక అసలు రహస్యాలను ఇటీవల ఒక పత్రికతో రాంజీత్ పంచుకున్నాడు. తాను ప్రతి రోజూ రాత్రి తన భార్య శకుంతలతో మూడుసార్లు శృంగారంలో పాల్గొనడం, బాగా పాలు తాగడం, నెయ్యి వాడటమే తాను మరోసారి తండ్రి కావటానికి కారణమని వెల్లడించాడు. ‘‘తన భార్యను సుఖపెట్టాలని ప్రతి పురుషుడూ కోరుకుంటాడు. ఇందులో తప్పేమీ లేదు.

Hat-trick for Modi in Gujarat; Congress ousts BJP in HP

Narendra Modi on Thursday performed a hat-trick retaining power for the third time in Gujarat and propelled himself as a strong contender in the Prime Ministerial race in 2014 while Congress ousted BJP from office in Himachal Pradesh. 

The BJP registered its fifth consecutive victory in Gujarat, third under Mr. Modi, when it bagged 115 seats, two less than in the 2007 elections while Congress bagged two more to finish at 61. 

The Nationalist Congress Party won two seats while Janata Dal-U one seat. The Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) led by Keshubhai Patel, which was widely predicted to damage the BJP’s fortunes, ended with a whimper winning only three seats. 

Widely speculated as a strong contender in the BJP riven by squabbles as PM candidate in the next Lok Sabha elections, 62-year-old Mr. Modi dedicated his victory to the six crore Gujaratis and those all over the country pining for good governance and development. 

The Chief Minister, who had consciously refused to apologise or express regret over the post-Godhra violence in the state in 2002 that claimed over 1,000 Muslim lives, on Thursday said he apologised to the six crore Gujaratis for “any mistake that may have occurred“. 

Even by mistake, there should be no mistake in the future, he told his supporters in his victory speech but gave no indications of his future political plans. 

When they shouted, “PM, PM”, he said he would be making a visit to Delhi for a day on Dec 27 and whatever he was doing in Gujarat was the service to Mother India. . 

“Neither will I stop, nor will I get tired as I have to fulfill your dreams”, he said.

However, Congress extracted a sweet revenge defeating BJP in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh. The party secured a wafer-thin majority of 36 in a House of 68, one more than the half-way mark of 35. 

The BJP managed to get only 26 while independents got 5 and Himachal Loktantrik Party one. In the last elections, the BJP got 41 and Congress 23

The BJP campaign of corruption against Congress veteran Virbhadra Singh failed to have any impact while anti—incumbency appeared to have cost the ruling party dear in Himachal Pradesh. 

The 78-year-old Virbhadra Singh, a five-time chief minister who was given the reins of the party on the eve of elections and who ran a spirited campaign, won from Shimla (Rural). 

Mr. Singh is again a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s post, political observers say. 

He also appears to have emerged unscathed from the CD case filed by the Dhumal government in which charges were framed against him leading to his resignation from the Union Government. 

While Chief Minister P.K. Dhumal won from Hamirpur constituency, his four cabinet colleagues Narinder Bragata, Khimi Ram, Krishan Kumar and Romesh Dhawala lost the elections.

However, cabinet ministers Gulab Singh, Mohinder Singh, Jai Ram Thakur, Ravinder Singh Ravi, Sarveen Chowdhary and Ishwar Dass Dhiman retained their seats. 

Leader of the opposition Vidya Stokes won from Theog while Vijay Singh Mankotia, a bete noir of V B Singh, who buried the hatchet and rejoined Congress on the eve of assembly polls,was defeated from Shahpur. 

In Gujarat, Congress suffered a major blow when its state unit chief Arjun Modhwadia lost the Porbandar seat to Babu Bokhiria of BJP by 17,146 votes, while Leader of Opposition Shaktisinh Gohil was defeated by Minister of State for fisheries Purushottam Solanki of the saffron party by 18,554 votes in Bhavnagar rural constituency. 

Both were strong contenders for chief ministership in the event of Congress coming to power. 

However, Shankar Singh Vaghela, Congress spearhead in the poll campaign and former state Chief Minister, managed to win Kapadvanj seat defeating Kanubhai Dabhi of BJP by a margin of 6597 votes.

Modi seeks Keshubhai Patel’s blessings

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called on Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) President Keshubhai Patel and sought his blessings after BJP’s victory in the assembly elections. 

Mr. Modi drove to the residence of Mr. Patel, who fell out with the BJP stalwart and floated his own party ahead of the election, in Gandhinagar to meet him.

“Modiji had come to seek blessings after his win in the elections. I congratulated him for the win,” Mr. Patel said after Mr. Modi’s visit. 

The former chief minister and BJP rebel floated GPP four months ahead of the elections and led a vitriolic campaign against Modi, who had succeeded him in 2001. 

The GPP had fielded candidates in more than 170 Assembly seats but the fledgling party came a cropper and barely managed to open its account. 

During the campaigning, Keshubhai, who won from Visavadar Assembly seat in Saurashtra region, had vowed to unseat Modi from power and compared the BJP leader to Hitler and called him a “demon“. 

Mr. Modi also visited his mother Hiraba and sought her blessings after leading the BJP to third straight Assembly election victory. 

Defeat in Himachal Pradesh

Riding an anti-incumbency wave and staving off corruption charges against its veteran leader Virbhadra Singh, Congress on Thursday wrested power from BJP in Himachal Pradesh with a wafer-thin majority of 36 in the 68-member Assembly.

Disproving predictions of a close contest, the state lived to its reputation of voting out the party in power, giving the ruling BJP, which suffered from severe infighting and rebel candidates, only 26 seats. 

The Independents, mostly BJP and Congress rebels, won five seats while Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) floated by BJP dissidents won one seat. 

In the last elections in 2007, the BJP had bagged 41 seats and Congress 23.

The 78-year-old Virbhadra Singh, a five-time chief minister who was given the reins of the party on the eve of elections and who ran a spirited campaign, won from Shimla (Rural). 

Mr. Singh, against whom BJP had levelled allegations of corruption during his tenure as Steel Minister in Delhi in the campaign, is again a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s post, political observers say.
