Chandrababu Naidu woos minorities

Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said he would provide 8 per cent reservation to Muslims in local as well as general elections, jobs and higher education.

Mr. Naidu’s latest sop comes on a day when he completed 2,000 km as part of ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra here.

Addressing a roadside meeting at NTR Statue Centre, Mr. Naidu said he would provide Rs.5 lakh interest-free loan to poor Muslims who wanted to set up industries.

He said Muslim youngsters have been forced to do low-paying jobs such as automobile mechanics.

The Telugu Desam supremo reiterated that he would provide 50 per cent reservation to the Backward Classes in all legislative bodies and announced that he would take measures to provide reservations to upper castes.

Wearing a skull cap in the Muslim-dominated Old Town area, Mr. Naidu, flanked by former MP Lal Jan Basha and MLA Sk. Ziaudddin, reiterated that the first signature he would make after returning to power would be on the file waiving crop loans.

The second signature would be eradication of belt shops, the third on diversion of Krishna waters to meet drinking water requirements in Guntur and the fourth on developing Guntur-Vijayawada as twin cities and creating an IT hub between the two cities.

Flays Sakshi

Mr. Naidu made serious allegations against Sakshi newspaper calling it a ‘visha kanya,’ (poisonous maiden), spewing venom on its way.

Faults Chiru

In an interesting comment, Mr. Naidu blamed K. Chiranjeevi for spoiling the chances of the TDP in the 2009 elections. “Had not the Praja Rajyam been in the fray, the TDP would have come to power,” he said.

He also turned his ire towards Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy accusing the latter of protecting tainted Ministers and corrupt industrialists.

The TDP president said that while he had come out unscathed during investigations into the allegations of corruption levelled against him during 2004-2009 by his adversaries, the Congress leaders had been framed by the CBI and the courts for their corrupt deals.

సంక్రాంతి సెలవుల సరదా ఇంకా పూర్తిగా దిగకముందే ఆ సరదాలను పటాపంచలు చేస్తూ ఇంట్లో పిల్లలకి తల్లిదండ్రులకీ ఆందోళన కలిగించేలా అడుగులు వేస్తూ తను వైపే వస్తూ కనిపించే భూతం... పరీక్షలు.
ప్రస్తుత పోటీ ప్రపపంచంలో ఆర్థికంగా, సామాజికంగా ఒక భద్రతా పూర్వకమైన స్థాయిలో జీవితంలో స్థిరపడడానికి, మంచి విద్యార్హతలు ఉంటేనే సాధ్యపడుతుందనే భావన ప్రతి తల్లిదండ్రుల్లోనూ ఉంది. తమ పిల్లలు బాగా చదువుకొని, మంచి ఉద్యోగం చేయాలని భావించే తల్లిదండ్రుల శాతం గత పదేళ్ళలో 35 శాతం పెరిగి, ప్రస్తుతం అలా భావించే అమ్మానాన్నల సంఖ్య మొత్తం కుటుంబాలలో 75 శాతం ఉంది. ఇటీవలి కాలంలో గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాలలో తల్లిదండ్రులు కూడా పిల్లల చదువు, ఉద్యోగాల మీదే దృష్టి కేంద్రీకరిస్తున్నారు. ఈ మొత్తం పరిణామాలు పిల్లలమీద తీవ్రస్థాయిలో ఒత్తిడిని పెంచేస్తున్నాయని మానసిక నిపుణులు అభిప్రాయ పడుతున్నారు. ఈ ఒత్తిడి పరీక్షల సమయంలో పరాకాష్టను చేరి అనేక అనర్థాలకు దారితీస్తోంది.

పరీక్షలు దగ్గరకొస్తున్నాయనగానే తల్లిదండ్రు లు తాము ఆందోళన పడిపోయి పిల్లలను కూడా ఎంతో ఆందోళనకు గురిచేస్తున్నారు. పరీక్షలలో తమ పిల్లలు మంచి మార్కులు సంపాదించాలనే ఏకైక లక్ష్యంతో పిల్లలని అనేక విధాల కట్టడి చేస్తుంటారు. ఎన్నో నియమాలు విధిస్తుంటారు. నిరంతరం హెచ్చరిస్తుంటారు. ఒకప్పుడు ఈ పరీక్షల హడావిడి కేవలం 7,10 వంటి పబ్లిక్ పరీక్షల సమయాల్లోనే ఉండేది. ఇప్పుడు ఒకటవ తరగతి పిల్లలకి కూడా పరీక్షల ఒత్తిడిని కలిగిస్తున్నారు తల్లిదండ్రులు.

పరీక్షల సమయంలో పిల్లల పెంపకం అనేది ఎంతో సున్నితమైన, కీలకమైన అంశం. అసలు ఆ సమయంలో తల్లిదండ్రులు పిల్లల పట్ల తమ బాధ్యతను సరిగ్గా నిర్వర్తిస్తున్నారా? అంటే అధిక శాతం లేదనే చెప్తున్నాయి సర్వేలు. ఈ అంశంపై ఎన్నో శాస్త్రీయమైన సూచనలను మానసిక నిపుణులు చేసి వాటిని పాటించడం వలన మరిన్ని మంచి ఫలితాలు లభిస్తాయని హామీ ఇస్తున్నారు.

పిల్లలే సమస్తం
పిల్లలకు తాము బాగా చదవాలని, పరీక్షలు బాగా రాయాలని మంచి మార్కులతో పాసవ్వాలని తెలుసనే విషయం తల్లిదండ్రులు నమ్మాలి. వారికి ప్రత్యేకంగా చదవమని ఒత్తిడి చేయనవసరం లేదు. అయితే పిల్లలు తమ లక్ష్యాలను సాధించే దిశగా తల్లిదండ్రులు సహకరించడం, తగిన వాతావరణాన్ని కల్పించడం, అండగా నిలబడడం చేయాలి.

పరీక్షల గురించి మాట్లాడాలి. ఏఏ సబ్జక్టులు కష్టమైనవి, ఏవి సులభమైనవో అడిగి తెలుసుకోవాలి. కష్టమైన వాటిని ఎందుకు కష్టమైనవో చర్చించాలి. వాటిని సులభంగా చేసే కొన్ని చిట్కాలు చెప్పాలి.
సమయంలో పిల్లలే ఇంట్లో విఐపిలుగా భావించాలి. వారికి తగ్గట్టుగానే ఇంట్లో అన్ని పనులు జరుగుతుండాలి. తనకి ఇంట్లో ఎంతో ప్రాముఖ్యత లభిస్తోందనే విషయం పిల్లలు ఫీలవ్వాలి.
సమయంలో పిల్లలో కలిగే అనేక భావాలను స్వేచ్ఛగా వ్యక్తపరచగలగడం చాలా ముఖ్యం.
దానికి తల్లిదండ్రులే చొరవ తీసుకొని మాట్లాడాలి.

ఆత్మవిశ్వాసాన్ని నింపాలి. ‘నువ్వు బాగా చదువుతావు. నీకు ఆసక్తి ఉంది. నీకు తేలికగా మంచి మార్కులు వస్తాయి’ అనే పాజిటివ్ సంకేతాలు తల్లిదండ్రుల నుంచి పిల్లలకు అందాలి.

పోషక విలువలుగల వారికి ఇష్టమైన ఆహారపదార్ధాలను చేసిపెట్టాలి. వాళ్ళు సరిగ్గా తినేలా, సరిగ్గా నిద్రపోయేలా చూడాలి.

భయం పొగొట్టడానికి పిల్లలు తేలిగ్గా జవాబులు రాయగల కొన్ని ప్రశ్నాప్రతాలను తయారుచేసి వారితో రాయించాలి. వాటితో సాధించే మంచి మార్కులు పిల్లల ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గిస్తాయి.

ప్రిపరేషన్ సమయంలో పిల్లలు ఉత్సాహ భరితంగా ఉండడం చాలా అవసరం. అందుకు తల్లిదండ్రులు చిన్న చిన్న బహుమానాలు, కొత్త వస్తువులు కొని ఇస్తుండాలి.

ప్రిపరేషన్‌కు అవసరమైన చిన్నచిన్న నోట్స్ రాసిపెట్టడం, రివిజన్‌లో సహాయపడడం, చదువుకోవడానికి టైమ్ తయారుచేయడం వంటివి చేయాలి.

సమయంలో పిల్లల్ని అప్పుడప్పుడు బయటకు తీసుకెళ్ళాలి. చదువనేది నిర్విరామంగా ఉండకూడదు.
సాధారణంగా ఎలా చదవాలో సరైన అవగాహన లేకుండా చదువుతుంటారు. దానివలన అదేపనిగా చదవడం, ఒకటే సబ్జెక్టు చదవడం వలన ఆసక్తి తగ్గిపోవడం, ఏకాగ్రత ఉండకపోవడం, శారీరకంగా అలసిపోవడం జరుగుతుంది. కాబట్టి తల్లిదండ్రులు కొన్ని ప్రిపరేషన్ టెక్నిక్స్ తెలుసుకొని పిల్లల్ని కూడా అలాగే చదివిస్తే మంచి ఫలితం ఉంటుంది.

ఈ రకమైన చర్యలతో తల్లిదండ్రులు పిల్లలలో పరీక్షల ఒత్తిడిని తగ్గించడమే కాకుండా, తాము కూడా ఎంతో రిలాక్స్‌డ్‌గా ఉండవచ్చు. దీని ప్రభావం పిల్లల పరీక్షా ఫలితాలపై కూడా పాజిటివ్‌గా ఉంటుంది. పిల్లలకు పరీక్షలలో మంచి మార్కులు రావాలని కోరుకోవడంలో తప్పులేదు. కానీ ఆ మార్కులు, పిల్లల జీవితాల కన్నా, వ్యక్తిత్వాల కన్నా గొప్పవి కావనే విషయం తల్లిదండ్రులు గ్రహిస్తే ఈ పరీక్షాకాలం అందరికీ ఆహ్లాదకాలంగా గడిపేయవచ్చు.

ఇలా చేయండి..!
పరీక్షల టైమ్‌టేబుల్ వచ్చిన ఒక రెండు మూడు రోజుల తర్వాత పిల్లలతో ఒక చర్చా కార్యక్రమం పెట్టాలి.
వెళ్ళి టీచర్‌ని కలిసి పిల్లల పరిస్థితి ఏమిటో, సబ్జక్టులలో ప్లస్‌లు, మైనస్‌లు తెలుసుకోవాలి.
ప్రిపరేషన్‌కి ఒక 60 లేదా 30 రోజుల టైమ్ తయారుచేయాలి. ఏఏ సబ్జక్టులు ఎప్పుడు, ఎంత చదవాలనే దానిపై ఒక విశ్లేషణ చేసుకొని దానికి తగ్గట్టుగా టైమ్‌టేబుల్ తయారుచేసుకోవాలి.

అదే పనిగా గంట సమయం కన్నా ఎక్కువ సేపు చదవనీయకండి.
ప్రశ్నాపత్రాలు తయారుచేసి మాక్ టెస్ట్‌లు పెట్టండి. దానికి బహుమతులు ఇవ్వండి.
వారానికోసారి బయటకు తీసుకువెళ్లండి. అప్పుడప్పుడు ఆటకి, టీవీకి అనుమతి ఇవ్వండి.
చదివితే ఏమవుతుందో దృశ్యపరంగా వివరించి చెప్పండి. వారికి ఇష్టమైన సినిమా హీరోలు, క్రీడాకారుల చదువు గురించి చెప్పాలి.

ఇలా చేయవద్దు..!
టైమ్ రాగానే ‘ఇక ఆటలు టీవీలు బంద్‌చేసి చదువు’ అని భయపెట్టకండి
టార్గెట్ పెట్టకండి. ఇతర పిల్లల మార్కులతో పోల్చి ‘అన్ని మార్కులు రాకపోతే’ అని హెచ్చరికలు జారీ చేయకండి.

సందేహాలు వచ్చి అడిగితే విసుక్కోకండి.
మంచి మార్కులు రాకపోతే ‘చదువు మాన్పించేస్తానని, ఎవరింట్లోనైనా పనికి పెట్టేస్తానని’ బెదిరించకండి.
సిలబస్ పూర్తి కాకపోవడం, టీచర్ చెప్పడం బాలేకపోవడం వంటి సమస్యలు పిల్లలు చెప్పినప్పుడు ఏవో సాకులు చెప్తున్నారని, విసుక్కోకూడదు.

చదువుమీద బోలెడంత ఖర్చు చేశాం’ అని ఆ డబ్బు తేవడానికి ఎన్ని కష్టాలు పడ్డారో, ఎన్ని అప్పులు చేశారో పిల్లల ముందు ఏకరవు పెట్టకూడదు.

మీద నిఘా పెట్టకూడదు. మాటిమాటికీ చదువుతున్నారో లేదో వెళ్ళి చూడకూడదు. ఆ విషయం సులభంగా గ్రహించగలరు.

Sex workers openly using Facebook, Twitter to advertise services

London, Jan 31 ): Sex workers are openly using social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter to advertise their services.

Prostitutes and escort agencies have created hundreds of unrestricted pages on Facebook.

This has sparked concern that children are being exposed to both explicit content as well as the services of the sex industry, the Telegraph reports.

Many of the pages include explicit photographs, descriptions of services alongside phones numbers, addresses and prices.

Facebook has removed dozens of the pages after being contacted by The Times newspaper.

The site said it "has a clear set of rules and these pages broke them", but said it could only take action when offensive items were reported to them by members of the public.

According to the paper, the postings were also reported to Twitter, but the microblogging site declined to comment or take action.

Under the company's rules, content would need to be illegal to be considered in breach of its terms and conditions, the paper added.

మంచి స్నేహం ఒక కవచం

మనం ఒక మిత్రుని పుట్టిన రోజు పార్టీకి వెళ్లామని అనుకుందాం. అతనికి మనమొక చక్కటి బహుమానం తీసుకెళ్ళతాము. ఈ బహుమానాన్ని మిత్రునికి ఇచ్చినప్పుడు, అతని దాన్ని దగ్గరున్న చేత్త బుట్టలోకి విసిరేస్తే, మనం ఏ విధంగా ఫీల్ అవుతాం. లాగి లెంపకాయ కొట్టాలి అన్నంత కోపం వస్తుంది. మనమిచ్చిన బహుమానాన్ని అవమానపరిస్తే,మనల్ని అవమానపరచినట్టు బాధ పడతాం. మరి తెలివితేటలు దేవుడు మనకి చ్చిన బహుమానం.ఈ తెలివితేటల్ని సరిగ్గా ఉపయోగించి మనం ఎదగకపోతే, దేవున్నే అవ మానపరిచినట్టు అవుతుంది కదా? ఈ విషయాన్ని అమ్మాయిలు గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. ఒకవేళ అమ్మాయి లు మరచి పోతే అమ్మానాన్నలు గుర్తు చేయ్యాలి.

నాకెలాంటి ప్రమాదం వాటిల్లదు

దీన్నే సైకాలజీలో ఎస్కేపిజం అని అంటాము. ఇలాంటి ఎస్కేపిజం మనం అడోలిసెంట్స్ దశలో గమనిస్తాం. ఈ దశలో ఉన్న పిల్లలు, అమ్మాయిలైన, అబ్బాయిలైనా చాలా రాష్‌గా ప్రవర్తిస్తారన్ని మనకు తెలిసిందే. నాకెలాంటి ప్రమాదం వాటిల్లదు, అనే ఆలోచన వీరిది. ఈ దశలో వీళ్ళ ఆరోగ్యం బ్రహ్మాండంగా ఉంటుంది. ఒకవేళ ఈ వయస్సులో మరణించడం జరిగితే, 40శాతం పైగా మోటారు ప్రమాదాల్లో జరుగుతుందని సర్వేలు తేలిపాయి. కేవలం మోటార్ సైకిల్స్, కార్లు వేగంగా నడపడమే కాదు, వీళ్ళ జీవితమే ఫాస్ట్‌లేన్‌లో ఉంటుంది. సెన్సేషన్ -సీకింగ్ వీళ్ళ వేదాంతం. అందుకే ఈ వయస్సులో అబ్బాయిలు, అమ్మాయిలు అనవసరమైన రిస్క్ తీసుకుంటారు. చీకటిపడ్డా ఒంటరిగా పోవాలను కుంటారు. ఫ్రెండ్స్ ఇంటికి వెళ్ళి సమయాన్ని పట్టించుకోకుండా ఇంటికి రావాలనుకుంటారు. నాకేమీ జరగదులే అని భావిస్తారు. అమ్మానాన్నలు, అమ్మాయిలను ఇలా ప్రవర్తించకుండా నియంత్రిం చాలి. ప్రస్తుతం మన సమాజంలో జరుగుతున్న వ్యవహారాలు మనందరి కళ్ళు తెరిపించాలి.

ప్రేమ ఒక ఎండమావి ఈ కాలంలో కొంతమంది అమ్మాయిల సమస్యల్లా, ప్రేమలో పడ్డామని భ్రాంతి పడడం. ఈ భ్రాంతి వీళ్లను , అబ్బాయిలైతే స్వేచ్ఛగా తిరిగేట్టు ప్రేరేపిస్తుంది. ప్రేమించాను అని అనుకున్న అబ్బాయిలైతే సినిమాలు, షికార్లు మొదలవుతాయి. అప్పుడు అమ్మానాన్నల మాటలు నీటి మూటలనిపిస్తాయి. చదువు కాస్తా చట్టబండలౌతుంది. నిజం చెప్పాలంటే ఈ వయస్సులోని అమ్మాయిల్లో చెలరేగే శారీరక ఉత్తేజాన్ని ప్రేమ అని నిర్వచించడం పొరపాటు. ఇది కేవలం ఈవయస్సులో శరీరాల్లో విడుదలవుతున్న హార్మోన్స్ ప్రభావం వల్ల, వీళ్ళలో కలిగే శారీరక ఉత్తేజం అని , ప్రేమ కాదని తెలుసుకోవాలి. అందుకే వీళ్ళు ప్రేమ అనుకునే ఈ మానసిక స్థితి ఎక్కువ కాలం నిలవదు. సైకాలజిస్ట్‌ల సర్వేల ప్రకారం అడోల్‌సెంట్స్ లో ప్రేమనుకొని దగ్గరయ్యేవాళ్ళు, అతి త్వరలోనే మళ్ళీ దూరమవుతారని తేలిపోయింది. అందుకే ప్రేమని భ్రమపడి, కొంతకాలం రాసుకొని,పూసుకొని తిరిగిన అమ్మాయిలు త్వరలోనే తెలుసుకొని, అబ్బాయిలనుండి విడిపోతారు. ఇటు అబ్బాయేమో, ‘మనసు పారేసుకున్నాను,సినిమాలకు, షికార్లకు ఈమెను తిప్పి నా మొత్తం డబ్బు తగలేసాను.

అయినప్పటికి ఈమె నాకు చెయ్యిచ్చింది.’ అనుకొని బాధపడతాడు. ఈ అబ్బాయి కాస్తా పోకిరి వాడైతే లేదా దుష్ట స్వభావం కలవాడైతే అమ్మాయికి ప్రమాదమే. ఇలాంటి అబ్బాయిలు యాసిడ్ దాడులు చేయ్యొచ్చు. ఇంకేదైనా దుష్ట చేష్టలు చేసే అవకాశం కూడా ఉంది. ఇలాంటి ప్రమాదం రాకుండా ఉండాలంటే, వయస్సులో ఉన్న అమ్మాయిలు ఎక్కువ సమయం అబ్బాయిలతో ఒంటరిగా కలిసి తిరుగకూడదు. గ్రూప్‌లో అందరితో కలిసి మాత్రమే మెలగాలి. అలాకాకుండా అమ్మాయి ఒంటరిగా అబ్బాయితో కలిసి తిరుగుతూ సమయం గడుపుతుందంటే, అమ్మానాన్నలు తెలుసుకుని తక్షణం రంగంలోకి దూకాలి. పనుల్లో మునిగి, ఆలస్యం చేయకూడదు.

Nirmal Police may surrender Akbar's custody

Hyderabad, January 13:

The Nirmal Police is likely to surrender the custody of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the alleged hate speeches case.

According to sources, the Nirmal Police has almost completed the process of questioning Akbaruddin Owaisi in connection with the alleged hate speech that he made last month. Therefore, after the completion of questioning on the third day on Monday, the police is likely to surrender his custody before the Nirmal court on Tuesday. However, this was not confirmed by any senior police official.

It may be mentioned that the court granted five-day police custody for the MIM leader till January 17. However, since the case was based on the video-recording of the public meeting in which Akbaruddin Owaisi delivered the controversial speech, the police have reportedly completed the questioning process in the last two days.

Meanwhile, Akbaruddin Owaisi was subjected to intense grilling on the second day of his police custody. He was taken to the Armed Reserve Police Headquarters from the District Sub-Jail, where he has been lodged, on Sunday. As per the court's instructions, he was questioned in the presence of his lawyers Akbar Hussain and Balraj.

Israeli police evict protesters from West Bank settlement

sraeli police on Sunday evicted a protest camp set up by Palestinians and international activists on a patch of West Bank land designated for a new settlement, a spokesman said.

E-1 lies between East Jerusalem and the Jewish settlement of Ma’aleh Adumim, where Israel has announced controversial building plans despite massive international opposition.

The Palestinians fear it would seriously harm prospects for a contiguous state in the West Bank because it would cut off the northern and southern areas of the occupied territory, and encroach on East Jerusalem, which they want as the capital of their future state.

More than 100 Palestinians and foreign activists had erected a camp of about 20 tents in protest, calling it Bab al-Shams and saying it would be a new Palestinian village.

Israel declared the area a “closed military zone” and as many as 500 police arrived before dawn. The protesters resisted passively, and security forces carried them onto buses, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

He denied claims by activists that a few protesters were injured and taken to hospital, saying the eviction passed “without any unusual incidents or injuries.” Police had not used teargas or other riot dispersal means, he said.

But Palestinian legislator Mustafa Barghouti, among those removed back to Palestinian-controlled territory, claimed the activists were pushed and treated roughly, and that several were injured, including himself.

“While this Israeli government is allowing settlers to steal our land and build on our land in an illegal manner according to the opinion of all the nations of the world and the United Nations, now they are arresting us because we are standing on our own land,” Mr. Barghouti told al-Jazeera, as he was being driven in Israeli-hired tour buses back into Palestinian-controlled territory, north of E-1.

He slammed the eviction as “unprecedented discrimination and oppression,” and charged that it was motivated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “trying to win elections in every possible way — by killing Palestinians in Gaza and now by arresting us.” Israel’s parliamentary elections are due to be held on January 22, 2013.

Mr. Barghouti said Palestinians would build protest camps or outposts as a new tactic against Israeli construction plans in the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party condemned the move as a “heinous crime.”

Mr. Netanyahu, speaking to his Cabinet in Jerusalem, praised the Israel police for the “excellent operation.” “We will not allow anyone to harm the contiguity between Jerusalem and Maale Adumim,” he vowed.

Israel’s High Court ruled that the camp set up on Friday should not be demolished for six days, but the protesters were informed that the injunction only forbade the removal of tents, not the people.

The government also appealed to the court to revoke the injunction, claiming an “urgent security need” existed. Israel said that leaving the protesters in the area would have led to “severe disturbances of the order.” An Israeli border police force remained in the area to prevent their return.
