13,761 private schools comply with RTE rules, register online

As many as 13,761 private schools have registered online with the Education Department as the last date for their mandatory registration under the Right to Education Act, 2009, came to a close on Friday. 

Many schools that come under the Karnataka Unaided Schools Joint Action Committee (KUSJAC), which had earlier resisted registration on the ground that the process is too cumbersome, have also now complied with the rule. 

“The government conceded our demand to allow offline registration with the Block Education Officers and we have done it,” said L. Shivarame Gowda, president of the KUSJAC. 

Numbers not clear

 

There is no clarity as yet on whether and how many schools across the State have failed to register because several schools have registered offline, according to E. Nanjappa, Consultant on the Right to Education Act, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. 

Besides, while the computer-generated statistics indicate that as many as 19,966 private schools were meant to register, Mr. Nanjappa said that the actual numbers could be lower because many composite schools run both primary and secondary schools come under one registration. 

“The District Information System for Education (DISE), on the other hand, counts primary and secondary schools separately, irrespective of whether they are run by the same management or not,” he said. 

“So, the actual number of schools who may have failed to register will be known only when we gather information from the field,” Mr. Nanjappa told The Hindu. It is estimated that close to 5,000 schools may be composite schools running under single management, he added. 

As per the rules under RTE, registration of all private schools is mandatory for their recognition to be continued. 

In the meanwhile, the Karnataka Unaided Schools Joint Action Committee, which held a meeting on Friday, has decided to meet Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Secretary and other officials of the Education Department on Monday to press for their other demands. 

Their demands include formation of a State-level committee for implementation of the RTE, which includes members of school managements. 

They are also demanding change in definition of “neighbourhood” and change in criterion for a child be deemed eligible for 25 per cent reservation under the RTE in private schools.

Jupiter to make closest approach to Earth

Jupiter, the largest after the Sun in the solar system, will be at its biggest and brightest on Monday night much to the delight of sky-gazers. 

The planet, which has a system of rings, is at its closest approach and thus would appear more big and bright than usual, N. Sri Raghunandan Kumar of Planetary Society of India said. 

The planet can be seen with naked eyes an hour after the sunset in the eastern direction on Monday. It will be visible all through the night and at midnight one can spot it in the southern direction at a higher elevation, he said. 

According to him, Jupiter, which has a large number of natural satellites, will be in ‘opposition’ on Monday night. “A planet is said to be in opposition when it is directly opposite to the Sun from our view from Earth,” he said. 

At its opposition, the planet is fully illuminated by the Sun and appears disc-like, he said, adding, Jupiter’s opposition occurs every 13 months. 

The last opposition of the planet occurred on October, 29, 2011 and the next will be January 6, 2014. 

The minimum distance of Jupiter from Earth is approximately 588 million kms while its maximum distance is about 967 million kms.

On Monday, the ring planet will be at 608 million kms, which is very close to its minimum distance from Earth. 

“Because of its closeness to Earth, Jupiter will be shinning very bright at -2.8 Magnitude,” Mr. Kumar said.

TRAI moves to check arbitrary disconnection of SIMs

Telecom regulator TRAI has initiated debate on the issue of operators arbitrarily disconnecting services of customers on the grounds of ’non-usage of numbers’ or ‘inactive SIM connections’

According to information provided by telecom operators to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, around 20 crore SIMs were inactive for over a certain period of time and the total balance on that account stood at Rs. 128.9 crore.

TRAI has said that telecom subscribers at various forums have represented that their mobile connections were being disconnected arbitrarily by telecom operators.

“Deactivation of a SIM without prior intimation and on arbitrary grounds deprives the subscriber of his mobile number which might have been an identity for him for a long time,” said TRAI’s consultation paper on the issue.

As a result, consumers suffer from a potential loss of activity in both personal and professional set-ups causing an adverse impact on livelihood.

“While some consumers complained against the practice of deactivation of SIMs without prior intimation to them by their TSPs (Telecom Service Providers) when they were travelling in India or abroad, other subscribers lamented about disconnection of their life-time prepaid connections within a very short period of non-usage,” TRAI said.

Telecom operators in their meetings with TRAI have said that they have to deactivate SIMs to efficiently manage number series (mobile phone numbers) allocated to them by the Department of Telecom.

TRAI said it has found that telecom operators do not follow common criteria to disconnect inactive SIMs but added that “to manage their numbering resources better, the service providers have proposed to follow a procedure for deactivating mobile connections which are not used for a long time.”

In July 2011, DoT started allocating number series to telecom operators on the basis of active users on their network.

“However, while carrying out such deactivations, the customers should be informed transparently and those customers who wish to retain their connections even while not using them should have the option to do so on payment of a connection retention fee,” it added.

TRAI cited that its order on tariff plan with lifetime or unlimited validity “requires any subscriber to recharge” his mobile phone account “with any specified minimum amount within specified time periods” during validity of the plan.

“...to keep the said tariff plan valid, such specified time period or interval, shall, in no case, be less than six months,” the regulator said.

TRAI has fixed December 21 as last date for comments on this consultation paper, and December 28 as last date for counter comments.

124 dead in Bangladesh factory fire

Dhacca, November 25:

At least 124 people were killed when a fire raged through a garment factory in the outskirts of the Bangladesh capital, officials said Sunday.

The fire that started Saturday evening at Tazreen Fashion near the Dhaka Export Processing Zone in Ashulia was brought under control around 6 a.m. Sunday, the Daily Star quoted fire service officials as saying.

Sources said the toll may rise as a search operation was still going on.

Nine bodies were found Saturday night, and 115 more were recovered from the factory Sunday morning.

Police and fire-fighters said those killed in the incident did not suffer burns, but died after jumping from different floors of the eight-storey building. Some also died in a stampede.

An official from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association said they will provide one lakh taka (around $12,300) to the kin of each of the dead.

Officials told Xinhua the blaze began at the cotton warehouse on the second floor of the factory.

Police suspect the fire originated from an electrical short-circuit.

There were around 4,000 workers when the fire started. About 1,000 workers were trapped inside the factory while 3,000 managed to escape.

In a similar incident in 2007, at least 50 workers were killed in a blaze at a garment factory in the southeastern city of Chittagong.

Allah ki kasam dubara aisi galti nahi karunga" - Kasab

November 21:

Were the last helpless words uttered by Ajmal Kasab, the only surviving terrorist, proved guilty in 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Kasab was hanged till death and buried immediately inside Yerwada jail on Wednesday morning.

Entire operation to hang Kasab in Yerwada was kept as a highly guarded secret as many jail officials were not even aware of the fact that Kasab was brought to Pune from Arthur road jail on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Many of them came to know about it when entire operation was completed successfully.


An officer from the Arthur road jail, who spoke to Kasab before being shifted to Yerwada jail said, “ On Monday I told Kasab get up you are being shifted to Pune jail (utho aap ko Pune jail shift kiya ja rahan hain). He just laughed at that and did what was instructed. Throughout the journey from Mumbai to Pune, he did not cause any trouble.”

The officer said, “In fact ever since his appeal had been rejected by the Supreme Court, his attitude was that of resignation. He knew that his death was a foregone conclusion and it was a matter of time and did not even react much when we informed him that his mercy petition had been rejected by the President. Hence towards the end, there he did not emote much or display any remorse.” The officer added, “He did not shed a single tear during the last few days.”

A team of around 10 government officials was present when Kasab was hanged. They include senior jail officials, government officials, police officer and doctors.
As per rules, Kasab was asked about his last wish. He had no last wish. He even did not ask whether his mother was informed as desired by him while leaving Arthur road jail. His mother Nooree Lai, had been informed by the union home secretary through diplomatic channels. She was informed about his death sentence and whether she would want to claim the body.


Kasab was not disturbed and was cool during his stay in Yerwada. A team of doctors confirmed Kasab’s death after 10 minutes. Sources said that jail authorities had already made all preparations to bury him in jail premises. Last rites, as per Muslim tradition were performed and functioning at jail came to normalcy within minutes.

పుణె : ముంబయిలో మారణహోమానికి పాల్పడ్డ పాకిస్థాన్ ఉగ్రవాది అజ్మల్ కసబ్‌కు ఉరి శిక్ష అమలైంది. రాష్ట్రపతి క్షమాభిక్ష పిటిషన్‌ను తిరస్కరించిన అనంతరం పుణె ఎరవాడ జైలులో బుధవారం ఉదయం 7.30 గంటలకు కసబ్‌ను జైలు అధికారులు ఉరి తీశారు. కసబ్‌ను ఉరి తీసినట్లు మహారాష్ట్ర హోం శాఖ ధ్రువీకరించింది. కేంద్ర హోం శాఖ కూడా అధికారికంగా కసబ్ ఉరిని ధ్రువీకరించింది.

వందలాది మందిని పొట్టన పెట్టుకున్న కసబ్‌కు రాష్ట్రపతి క్షమాభిక్ష ప్రసాదించలేదు. ముంబయిలోని తాజ్ హోటల్, శివాజీ టెర్మినల్‌లో విచక్షణా రహితంగా ఉగ్రవాదులు కాల్పులు జరిపిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. 2008లో జరిగిన ముంబయి మరణహోమంలో అజ్మల్ కసబ్ ప్రాణాలతో పట్టుబడ్డారు. 2008 నవంబర్ 26న లష్కరే తొయిబా ఉగ్రవాదులు ముంబయికి చేరుకుని మారాణాయుధాలతో దాడులకు పాల్పడ్డారు.

2010, మే 3న కసబ్‌పై ట్రయల్ కోర్టులో నేర నిర్ధారణ.. హత్య, దేశంపై యుద్దం ప్రకటించినట్లు కేసు నమోదైంది. 2010, మే 6న కసబ్‌కు అదే కోర్టు మరణ శిక్ష విధించింది. 2011, ఫిబ్రవరి 21న బాంబే హైకోర్టు మరణ శిక్షను సమర్థించింది. 2012, ఆగస్టు 29న కసబ్‌కు విధించిన మరణ శిక్షను సుప్రీంకోర్టు ఖరారు చేసింది. 2012 సెప్టెంబర్ 18న రాష్ట్రపతి ముందు క్షమాభిక్ష పిటిషన్‌ను పెట్టుకున్న కసబ్ క్షమాభిక్ష తిరస్కరణ అనంతరం 2012 నవంబర్ 21న కసబ్‌కు ఉరిశిక్ష అమలైంది.

26/11/2008 న కసబ్ బృందం సృష్టించిన మారణహోమంలో 166 మంది ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు. 308 మంది గాయాలపాలయ్యారు. పాకిస్థాన్ కు చెందిన 10 మంది ఉగ్రవాదులు మారాణాయుధాలతో ముంబయిపై దాడి చేసి విచక్షణారహితంగా పౌరులపై కాల్పుల జరిపారు. దక్షిణ ముంబైలోని చత్రపతి శివాజీ రైల్వేస్టేషన్, ఒబెరాయ్ ట్రైడెంట్, తాజ్ మహాల్ ప్యాలెస్, టవర్, లిపోల్డ్ కేఫ్, కామా హస్పిటల్, నారిమన్ హౌజ్, మెట్రో సినిమా, సెయింట్ జేవియర్ కాలెజీ, మేజాగావ్ తదితర ప్రాంతాల్లో మారణహోమం సృష్టించారు. ఈ నరహంతకుల దాడిలో చాలా మంది పోలీసు అధికారులు సైతం ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు.

కసబ్ ఉరితీతపై హర్షం వ్యక్తమైంది : ఖుర్షీద్
న్యూఢిల్లీ : ముంబయిలో మారణహోమానికి పాల్పడ్డ ఉగ్రవాది అజ్మల్ కసబ్ ఉరితీతపై దేశవ్యాప్తంగా హర్షం వ్యక్తమైందని విదేశీ వ్యవహారాల శాఖ మంత్రి సల్మాన్ ఖుర్షీద్ తెలిపారు. న్యాయమూర్తి నిర్ణయం మేరకే కసబ్‌కు ఉరిశిక్ష అమలు చేశామని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. చట్టం దృష్టిలో ఎవరైనా ఒకటేనని కసబ్ ఉరిశిక్ష అమలు రుజువు చేస్తుందన్నారు. కసబ్ కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు సమాచారం అందించినప్పటికి ఇప్పటి వరకూ ఎలాంటి సమాచారం రాలేదని పేర్కొన్నారు. కసబ్ ఉరితీతపై పాకిస్థాన్‌కు ముందే సమాచారం పంపామని తెలిపారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ: ముంబై బాంబు పేలుళ్ల కేసులో నిందితుడు, ఉగ్రవాది అజ్మల్ కసబ్ ఉరితీతపై ఎట్టకేలకు పాకిస్థాన్ ప్రభుత్వం స్పందించింది. కసబ్‌కు ఉరి శిక్షను అమలు చేయనున్నట్టు తమకు భారత ప్రభుత్వం సమాచారం అందించిందని, అది అందిన వెంటనే తాము లేఖ ముట్టినట్లు ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చామని పాక్ ప్రభుత్వం వెల్లడించింది. కసబ్ ఉరిపై తమ ప్రభుత్వం స్పందించలేదనడం సమంజసం కాదని పాక్ వ్యాఖ్యానించింది. 2008 సంవత్సరం నవంబర్ 26న ముంబైలోని శివాజీ టర్మినల్, తాజ్ హోటల్‌లపై లష్కరే తోయిబా ఉగ్రవాదులు జరిపిన బాంబు దాడుల్లో వందల మంది ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఈదాడులకు పాల్పడ్డ వారు అందరూ భద్రతా దళాల కాల్పుల్లో చనిపోగా కసబ్ ఒక్కడు మాత్రం ప్రాణాలతో పట్టుబడ్డాడు.

26/11 దాడుల్లో మృతులు, బాధితుల కుటుంబాలు కసబ్ ఉరి అమలుపై హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేశాయి. ఆలస్యంగానైనా ప్రభుత్వం ఓ మంచి నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు తెలిపారు. చనిపోయిన తమ ఆత్మీయుల ఆత్మకు శాంతి కలుగుతుందన్నారు. ఎప్పడో చేయాల్సిన పనిని సర్కారు ఆలస్యంగా చేసి ప్రజాధనం, అధికారులు, కోర్టుల సమయం వథాచేసిందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

2G case: RBI Governor deposes before court

RBI Governor D Subbarao today deposed in a Delhi court as a prosecution witness in the 2G case, saying he had questioned in 2007 the spectrum fee of around Rs. 1600 crore for pan India licence. 

Mr Subbarao, who was the Finance Secretary from April 2007 to September 2008, is a key witness in the case in which former Telecom Minister A Raja and others are facing trial. 

During the recording of his statement, Mr Subbarao told the court he had written a letter on November 22, 2007 to the then Telecom Secretary D S Mathur in which he had questioned the spectrum fee of around Rs. 1600 crore for pan India licence.

He said that he had also questioned as to how the spectrum fee of Rs. 1600 crore, which was fixed in 2001, could be applied in 2007. 

“I also questioned how the rate of Rs. 1600 crore, determined in as far as back in 2001, could be applied for licences given in 2007...,” he told Special CBI Judge O P Saini. 

CBI prosecutor A K Singh also showed various files and notes of various departments concerned, including that of Department of Telecom and Ministry of Finance, to Mr Subbarao during the recording of his statement which is likely to continue throughout the day. 

Till November 11, the court had recorded statements of 77 CBI witnesses in the case in which Mr Raja is the key accused. 

Besides Mr Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi, former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura, Mr Raja’s erstwhile private secretary R K Chandolia, Swan Telecom promoters Shahid Usman Balwa and Vinod Goenka, Unitech Ltd MD Sanjay Chandra, three top executives of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (RADAG) — Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair — are facing trial in the case. 

Directors of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agarwal, Kalaignar TV Director Sharad Kumar and Bollywood producer Karim Morani are also accused in the case.

నిన్న మొన్నటి సినిమా అంటే.. ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్.. ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్.. అండ్.. ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్! ది డర్టీ పిక్చర్!! విద్యాబాలన్ మాట నూటికి నూరుపాళ్లూ తప్పు! ఇప్పుడు సినిమా ఒక ఎంటర్‌ప్రైజ్! తండ్రుల నుంచి కొడుకులకు.. కొడుకుల నుంచి వాళ్ల కొడుకులకు.. వాళ్ల నుంచి వాళ్ల కొడుకులకు! ఇదో వారసత్వ పరిక్షిశమ! పాలకులు ‘మన’వాళ్లే! కోరుకోవడం ఆలస్యం. కోట్లు పలుకుతున్న ఎకరాలకెకరాలు.. కారుచౌకగా దఖలు పడతాయి! స్టూడియోల నిర్మాణానికి తెచ్చుకున్న భూమిలో మల్టీప్లెక్స్‌లు మొలిచి.. వ్యాపార సామ్రాజ్యాలుగా ఎదుగుతాయి! అడ్డికి పావుశేరుకు కొట్టేసిన భూములు అమ్మకానికి వీల్లేకపోయినా.. కోట్లకు చేతులు మారుతుంటాయి!ఇది పదహారు రీళ్ల తెలుగు సినీమాయా ప్రపంచం! పుష్కలంగా పారే నీళ్లతో మూడు పంటలూ పండగా పేరుకున్న మిగులు సొమ్ముతో కామందులు ఆక్రమించిన కళా సామ్రాజ్యం!! నలుపు-తెలుపు కాలం నుంచి.. సప్తవర్ణాల దాకా..! మూకీ.. టాకీల నుంచి.. డాల్బీ డిజిటల్ సరౌండ్ స్టీరియో సౌండ్ ఎఫెక్ట్‌ల దాకా! పౌరాణికాల నుంచి జానపదాలకు ఎదిగి.. సాంఘిక, సామాజిక అంశాలను స్పృశిస్తూ.. అభ్యుదయాన్ని కాంక్షించి.. విప్లవనాదాలు చేసి.. ఫక్తు వ్యాపార ధోరణికి జారి.. బూతును, ఆడపడుచు అర్ధ నగ్న అందాలను వెండితెరపై అమ్మకానికి పెట్టే దిగజారుడు స్థాయికి పడిపోతున్న నాలుగు ఆటల.. మూడు గంటల దందా! మాఫియా, మత్తుమందుల వ్యాపారాలతో ఇప్పుడు మరింత పాతాళంలోకి! కళను నమ్ముకున్న కొందరు దర్శక నిర్మాతలు.. వారు తీసిన కొన్ని ప్రగతిశీల సినిమాలకు మినహాయింపు! ఎక్కువ మందికి సినిమా పెట్టిన పెట్టుబడికి..

అంతకు రెట్టింపు.. వీలైతే పదింతలు సంపాదించుకునే యావే! అందుకే వారికేమీ పట్టవు! సమాజం పట్ల కొరవడిన బాధ్యత.. ఉపాధ్యాయులంటే హాస్యగాళ్లు.. పురోహితులంటే అర్భకులు.. సామాజిక వర్గాలంటే చులకన భావం.. బడుగు జీవులంటే అవహేళన.. అస్తిత్వ ఉద్యమాలంటే ఎక్కడలేని అలుసు! మద్రాస్ నుంచి వస్తూ.. అనేక రాయితీలు తెచ్చుకుని, చట్టాలు మార్పించేసుకుని, హైదరాబాద్‌లో మకాం వేశారు! అంతా ఒక ప్రాంతం వారే! వారు తీసిందే సినిమా.. వారు చూపిందే బొమ్మ! రాష్ట్రం మొత్తం చూసే సినిమా! కానీ.. ఒక ప్రాంతంలో ఒకటిండు సామాజికవర్గ కుటుంబాల భావనలే కథాంశాలు! ఒకే ఒక్కడు.. హీరో! ఎక్కడో కోనసీమ పల్లెల నుంచి వచ్చి.. వంద మందిని ఒకేసారి మట్టికరిపించేస్తాడు! ఒకప్పుడు పాత్రల్లో జీవించేవారు.. ఇప్పుడు నటించడం మానేశారు! గొంతు బాగాలేకపోతే.. డబ్బింగ్.. ఫేస్‌లో హీరో చార్మ్ లేకుంటే ప్లాసిక్ సర్జరీ! అంతా బ్లూస్క్రీన్ మాయ! నాటి తారలు మృదు మధుర శృంగారభావనలను హావభావాలతో ఒలికిస్తే.. నేడు ఒక్కటే సూత్రం ఎక్స్‌పోజింగ్! ఒకప్పుడు సినిమారంగం అంటే కళాపోషణ! ఇప్పుడు ‘కళ’ తప్పి.. పోషణే మిగిలింది! ఆ పోషణ కుటుంబం గడిచేందుకు కాదు.. తరతరాలు గడించకపోయినా.. ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా! నిన్న మొన్నటి సినిమా అంటే..

వేషం తీసేస్తే ఇక్కడ కబ్జాకోరులు! తెరపై హీరోయిన్‌కు కన్నుగీటి.. ప్రేమను బకెట్ల కొద్దీ కురిపించే హీరోలు.. తెర వెనుక కాసుల లెక్కల్లో మునిగితేలుతుంటారు! మానవతావాదాన్ని చాటే మహానటులు.. నిజ జీవితంలో నటులే! హీరోయిన్ బొడ్డు అందంగా చూపడంపై ఎంత శ్రద్ధ పెడతారో.. నగరం నడిబొడ్డున భూములు కొట్టేయడానికీ అంతే తపన! రీళ్ల డబ్బాలు కురిపించిన నోట్ల కట్టలతో జూబ్లీ.. బంజారా గుట్టలను భక్షించి.. మయసభలు కట్టుకున్న సినీమాంవూతికులు! ఇప్పుడు ఆ గుట్టల పరిరక్షణే ధ్యేయం! అందుకే అస్తిత్వ ఉద్యమాలంటే వారికి అసహ్యం.. ఉద్యమాలు విజయం సాధిస్తే తాము కట్టుకున్న కోటలు ఎక్కడ కూలిపోతాయోనని! తెలంగాణ జీవనశైలి అంటే అదేదో పరాయి దేశపుదన్న ఆలోచన! తెలంగాణ యాస అంటే రౌడీలు గూండాలు, అనాగరికులు, లేబరోళ్లు మాట్లాడే భాషగా నిర్ణయం.. ఈ ప్రాంతంలో ఉండేది వారేనని ఒక తీర్మానం! కోస్తా జిల్లాల సంస్కృతే రాష్ట్ర సంస్కృతిగా చిత్రీకరణ.. ఒకటి కాదు.. వంద కాదు.. వేల రీళ్లు తిరిగినా ఇదే దృశ్యం! ఇడ్లీ సాంబారు ప్రస్తావనలే తప్ప.. జొన్న రొట్టెలు, అంబలి కనిపించవు! పండుగల్లోనూ అదే తీరు! ఒకానొక కాలంలో సంక్రాంతి పండుగ ప్రస్తావన లేని సినిమాల్లేవంటే ఆశ్చర్యమే! ఇప్పటికీ అదే తీరు! రాష్ట్రంలో సగభాగం ఎంతో గొప్పగా జరుపుకొనే బతుకమ్మ పండుగ పేరే ఇటీవలి కాలంవరకూ రాష్ట్రంలోని ఏ సినిమా హాల్‌లోనూ వినిపించలేదంటే తెలంగాణపై ఏ స్థాయిలో ఉందో వివక్ష! జమీందారు అకృత్యాలపై హీరో పోరాటాలే తప్ప.. రజాకార్లపై తెలంగాణ రైతులు చేసిన పోరాటాలు, చేసిన త్యాగాలు వెండితెర వేల్పులకు కనిపించలేదు. ఇక వామపక్ష అభ్యుదయ, విప్లవ భావజాలాలను ఏం చేస్తారు? తీసే సినిమాల్లోనూ వాస్తవాల వక్రీకరణలు..

ఒక ప్రాంతంపై దూషణభాషణలు! అదే సొంత ప్రాంతమైతే.. పాత్రలకు అత్యున్నత శిఖరాలు! అందుకే వారికి కొమురం భీమ్ పోరాటం కనిపించదు! మన్యంవీరుడెవరంటే అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజే! నటశేఖరుడు చెప్పాడుగా మరి! ఖాకీ నిక్కరు చొక్కా వేసుకుని.. యోగిలా జీవితం గడుపుతూ గిరిజనులను ఏకం చేసిన అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు.. కాషాయ వస్త్రాలతో.. విల్లంబులతో వెండితెరపై కొత్త.. నాగరిక ముద్ర వేసుకుంటాడు! కొమురం భీం సినిమా విడుదలకు ఏళ్లు పడుతుంది.. నైజాం నవాబును గడగడలాడించిన కొమురం భీం మన్యంవీరుడంటే వాళ్ల మనసు నచ్చదు! ఆ యోధుడి జీవితాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాలంటే మళ్లీ ఆ ప్రాంతపువాడే తలపెట్టాలి! జీవన శైలిలోనూ అదే తీరు. ఆడుతు పాడుతు పని చేస్తుంటే అలుపు సొలుపు ఉండదు..అంటూ భార్యాభర్తలు సాగునీటి కాల్వల నుంచి నీళ్లు చేదుతున్న పాటల దృశ్యాలే! ఏటికేతం బట్టి ఎయిపుట్లు పండించి.. ఎన్నడూ మెతుకెరుగని తెలంగాణ రైతు కష్టాన్ని పాట సినిమా కథలో తేవాలంటే మళ్లీ తెలంగాణ కలమే రావాలి! ఇప్పుడు పైత్యం మరింత ముదిరింది. మొన్నటిదాకా తెలంగాణపై పరోక్షంగా విషం కక్కిన దర్శకాక్షిగేసరులు.. ఇక నేరుగా యుద్ధం చేస్తున్నారు. తెలంగాణవాదంపై మునుపెన్నడూ లేని విధంగా విరుచుకుపడుతున్నారు.. కెమెరామెన్ గంగతో రాంబాబు ఒక ఉదాహరణ మాత్రమే! సినిమా ఒకనాడు వినోదం, కళ.. తదుపరి వినోదం, అభ్యుదయం.. కొన్నాళ్లకు వినోదం, వ్యాపారం..కాలం గడిచే కొద్దీ ఆస్తుల సేకరణ.. ఇప్పుడు ఆస్తుల రక్షణ! తెలుగు సినిమా పరివర్తనా క్రమమిది!

శివసేన అధినేత బాల్‌ఠాక్రే కన్నుమూత

ముంబయి: మహారాష్ట్ర పౌరుల హక్కుల పరిరక్షణ పోరాట యోధుడు, అలుపెరుగని వీరుడు శివసేన అధినేత బాల్‌ఠాక్రే కన్నుమూశారు. ఇవాళ మధ్యాహ్నం 3.33 గంటలకు ఆయన తన స్వగృహం ‘మాతోశ్రీ’లో తుది శ్వాస విడిచారు. ఆయన వయస్సు 86 సంవత్సరాలు. ఠాక్రే పూర్తి పేరు బాలసాహెబ్ కేశవ్ ఠాక్రే. గత కొంత కాలంగా ఠాక్రే శ్వాసకోశ సంబంధమైన వ్యాధితో బాధపడుతున్నారు. ఈ వ్యాధి కారణంగా గుండె ఆగిపోయి చనిపోయారని వైద్యులు తెలిపారు. బాల్‌ఠాక్రేకు భార్య మీనా ఠాక్రే, ముగ్గురు కుమారులు బిందుమాధవ్ ఠాక్రే, జయదేవ్ ఠాక్రే, ఉద్దవ్ ఠాక్రే.

ఠాక్రే 1926, జనవరి 23న మధ్యప్రదేశ్‌లోని బాలఘాట్‌లో జన్మించారు. ముంబయిలోని ‘ద ఫ్రీ ప్రెస్ జర్నల్’ ఆంగ్ల పత్రికకు కార్టూనిస్టుగా పనిచేస్తూ తన వృత్తి జీవితాన్ని ప్రారంభించారు. 1960లో సొంత పత్రిక ‘మార్మిక్’ను ప్రారంభించారు. 1989లో మరాఠీ పత్రిక ‘సామ్నా’, హింధీ పత్రిక ‘దుప్హార్‌కా సామ్నా’లను ప్రారంభించారు. ఠాక్రే తండ్రి సమైక్య మహారాష్ట్ర ఉద్యమ నాయకుడు కేశవ్ సీతారామ్ ఠాక్రే. తన తండ్రి కేశవ్ సీతారామ్ స్ఫూర్తితోనే బాల్‌ఠాక్రే తన రాజకీయ జీవితాన్ని మలుచుకున్నారు. భూమి పుత్రుల సిద్ధాంతాన్ని ఠాక్రే ప్రతిపాదించారు. మహారాష్ట్ర మహారాష్ట్రీయులదేనని గట్టిగా నినదించారు. వలసవాదులతో మహారాష్ట్రీయులకు అన్యాయం జరుగుతుందని ఆయన విశ్వసించేవారు.

మహారాష్ట్రను భాషాప్రయుక్త రాష్ట్రంగా నిర్మించాలనేది ఠాక్రే లక్షం. జర్మన్ నియంత అడాల్ఫ్ హిట్లర్‌ను ఆయన అమితంగా అభిమానించేవారు. 1966 జూన్ 19న ఆయన ‘శివసేన’ను స్థాపించారు. తన పార్టీకి ఛత్రపతి శివాజీ సైన్యం అని అర్థం వచ్చేలా ‘శివసేన’ అని నామకరణం చేశారు. ఆపార్టీ కార్యకర్తలకు శివ సైనికులుగా పేరు పెట్టిన ఘనత ఠాక్రేది. 1960-70ల రాజకీయ పార్టీలతో పొత్తులు కుదుర్చుకున్నారు. మన సంస్కక్షుతికి వ్యతిరేకమైన ‘వాలంటైన్స్ డే’ను జరుపుకోరాదని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.

విదేశీ సంస్కక్షుతిని అడ్డుకోవాలని శివసైనికులకు పిలుపునిచ్చారు. 1995లో ఠాక్రే మహారాష్ట్రలో బీజేపీ-శివసేన సంకీర్ణ ప్రభుత్వం ఏర్పాటు అయ్యేలా కృషి చేశారు. 1996లో ఆయనకు సతీవియోగం సంభవించింది. మీనా ఠాక్రే గుండెపోటుతో స్వర్గస్థులైనారు. పెద్ద కుమారుడు బిందు మాధవ్ రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో అకాల మృత్యువాత పడ్డారు.
