Telangana MPs set deadline to quit if demands are not met

Separate meetings of Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad with Congress members of Parliament from Telangana and Andhra-Rayala Seema regions of Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi yesterday has only accentuated the already clear division between the two groups.

While the purpose of the meeting was not clear, both groups further stressed their known positions in support and opposition to Telangana state.

This was the first meeting with MPs from Andhra Pradesh by Azad after he took charge from Veerappa Moily as the party general secretary in-charge of the state affairs.

What should set the alarm bells ringing in Congress is that during their meeting with Azad, the Telangana members of Parliament have set a deadline of June 1 to announce the Telangana state failing which they will resign both from the Parliament and any position in the party.

They told Azad that they will continue only as ordinary members of the Congress party.

The MPs, both from Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha — handed over two letters to Azad detailing the present political situation in the state and the problems they were facing in their own constituencies because of the lack of clarity in Congress stand.

30 Telangana students launch fast-unto-death at OU

Demanding the introduction of separate Telangana Bill in the ongoing Parliament session, nearly 30 Telangana students launched a fast-unto-death at the Arts College in the Osmania University campus on Thursday.
Maha Amarana Nirahara Deeksha, was launched by the Telangana Vidyarthi Aikya Vedika.

“We want the introduction of separate Telangana Bill in the ongoing Parliament session. If the Prime Minister can convene a joint parliamentary session to order a JPC probe, why can’t both the Houses be convened and a Bill for separate Telangana be introduced in the present session itself,” the Aikya Vedika spokesperson K Mahesh said.

Several Telangana leaders, including Prof Keshav Rao Jadhav, revolutionary singer Vimalakka, representatives of lawyers, doctors JACs and professors and Muslim leaders visited the camp and extended their support to the fasting students.

The student leaders warned that they would storm the chief minister’s residence and the Director General of Police (DGP) office, if the arrested students were not released within 48 hours.

The OUJACs would also meet the Telangana JAC and the representatives of all political parties to get support from them in their fight. The OUJAC is also planning to approach the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) for getting the student leaders released.

KCR suspends three MLAs for cross-voting

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Saturday suspended three of its MLAs — Kalvakuntala Vidyasagar Rao (Korutla), Enugu Ravinder Reddy (Yellareddy) and Kaveti Sammaiah (Sirpur Kagaznagar) — for cross-voting in the MLC elections. The trio had allegedly voted for the Congress candidate.

After a marathon politburo meeting at the residence of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, the party decided to “weed out” the “black sheep” to protect the “sanctity and purity of the Telangana movement.”

“It is my bounden duty as the president of the party to protect the movement and keep its sacredness,” the TRS chief told reporters late in the night. “We have decided not to carry forward these black sheep,” he declared.

Earlier in the day, the three MLAs submitted their resignations to him. However, Ravinder Reddy claimed innocence. “It is up to the party to verify who had violated the party whip. I demand serious action against those who had resorted to cross-voting,” Ravinder Reddy said.But the TRS chief was unconvinced. The politburo, after examining technical details and gathering information, concluded that the three MLAs had indeed voted against the party candidate.

The TRS chief said the party had fielded its own candidate in the MLC elections to prove that they were united. “At a time when the entire Telangana is fighting for a separate State, this sort of behaviour is unacceptable,” he said and asserted that in the future too, the party “will not spare anyone, including my family members, who resort to such acts.”

He said he would forward the resignation letters of the MLAs to the Deputy Speaker. However, he offered an olive branch to them saying they could themselves submit their resignations to the Deputy Speaker and continue to be ordinary party workers. “The suspended MLAs should also tender an apology to the people,” he said.

Rao said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was directly involved in “tempting the TRS MLAs.” He urged the Election Commission to amend the People’s Representatives Act to prevent horse-trading in Council elections. “The EC should not remain a mute spectator,” he observed and called for a transparent polling process.

అసలు ఆంధ్రము, తెలుగు ఒక్కటేనా?

ట్యాంక్ బండ్ మీద విగ్రహాల ధ్వంసం తర్వాత మళ్ళీ ఆంధ్రులకు జాతి, సంస్కృతి మీద గొంతు చించుకొని బుడి బుడి దీర్ఘాలు తీసే అవకాశం దొరికింది. బహుశా అలాంటి అవకాశం కల్పించడానికే ఈ సంఘటన జరగడానికి కావలసిన పరిస్థితులు కల్పించిందేమో, ప్రభుత్వం.ఈనాడు, వారి తాలూకు మహాత్ముల విగ్రహాలు కూలిపోతే, కళ్ళ నీళ్ళు పెట్టుకుంటున్నారు, దండలు వేస్తున్నారు, ఖండనలు చేస్తున్నారు.జాతికి అవమానం జరిగిందని,సంస్కృతికి నష్టం కలిగిందని,గొంతు చించుకొని అరుస్తున్నారు.


కాని తెలంగాణా పదమంటేనే వీరు భరించలేరు. తెలంగాణా చరిత్రను కనుమరుగు చేసే కుతంత్రము చేసారు. అసెంబ్లీలో తెలంగాణా పదాన్ని ఉచ్చరించడమే నిషేదించారు. ప్రపంచ కమ్యూనిస్ట్ ఉద్యమంలోనే మహోన్నత ఘట్టమైన తెలంగాణా సాయుధ పోరాటాన్ని, పూర్తిగా చరిత్ర పుటల్లో తొక్కి పెట్టి ఉంచారు. ఆ నాడు స్వాతంత్ర్యం కొరకు ప్రాణత్యాగము చేసిన 4500 మంది తెలంగాణా వీరుల త్యాగం పై ముసుగు వేసి మూలకు ఉంచారు. తెలంగాణా సాహిత్యాన్ని, సంస్కృతిని వెటకారం చేసి వెలి వేసారు.


ఇదీ కాక, తెలంగాణా కిచ్చిన హామీలు ఒక్కొక్కటి అంచెలవారిగా తుంగలో తొక్కి అంతమొందించారు. సుప్రీంకోర్ట్ సమర్థించిన ముల్కిరూల్స్ ని పార్లమెంట్ సాక్ష్యంగా ఖననం చేసారు. కాసు బ్రహ్మానంద రెడ్డి, ది ‘ ఆంధ్రా బుచ్చర్ ‘, మలబార్ పోలీసులను పెట్టి, 369 మంది ఆణి ముత్యాలవంటి తెలంగాణా విద్యార్థులను కాల్చి చంపి మారణహోమం చేశాడు. ఈ మలిదశ ఉద్యమంలో 600 మంది యువత ఆత్మార్పణం చేసుకుంటే, వాళ్ళేదో టెర్రరిస్త్లైనట్లు ఒక్క ఆంధ్రుడు కూడా కన్నీటి చుక్క విడువలేదు, వారి ఆత్మశాంతికి ప్రార్థించలేదు. నైజాం నే గడగడ లాడించిన ‘కొమురం భీం’ విగ్రహం పెట్టాలనే ప్రతిపాదన ఒప్పుకోవడానికి, యాభై ఏండ్లకు పైగా పట్టింది. అందుకు డబ్బులు ఖర్చు పెట్టడానికి ఇప్పటికీ మనసొప్పలేదు. కాని, తెలంగాణా ప్రజలకు , ఏమీకాని, ఏమీ చెయ్యని, అసలు వాళ్ళంటే ఎవరో తెలియని , వారి ‘మహాత్ము’ల విగ్రహాలు పునః ప్రతిష్టించడానికి గంటల వ్యవధిలో 78 లక్షల రూ.లు మంజూరైనవి.


యూనివర్సిటీలను కాంసెంట్రేషన్ క్యాంపులుగా మార్చిండ్రు. ఏ ప్రజాస్వామ్య నిరసనకు పిలుపునిచ్చినా , పోలీసులు యూనివర్సిటీలు ముట్టడించి, విద్యార్థి, విద్యార్థినులను, గొడ్డులను బాదినట్లు బాదుతున్నారు. భాష్పవాయువు బుల్లెట్లు ప్రయోగిస్తున్నారు. హైకోర్ట్ లాయర్లను రోడ్ల మీద క్రిమినల్సులను కొట్టినట్లు
కొడుతున్నారు. ప్రజానీకాన్ని పశువులను బందెల దొడ్లో తోలినట్లు పోలీసు స్టేషన్లలో కుక్కుతున్నారు. యునివర్సిటీ అమ్మాయిలను, ఎమ్మార్వోల చేత బైన్దోవర్ చేయిస్తున్నారు. ఇంతటి మానవహక్కుల ఉల్లంఘన స్వాతంత్ర సమరం రోజుల్లో కూడా జరగలేదేమో అనిపిస్తుంది.

అయినా మన ఆంధ్ర సోదర సోదరీమణులకు, ఇవన్నీ ఏమీ పట్టవు, ఎందుకంటే ఈ బాధలు పడేవాళ్ళు ఆంధ్రావాళ్ళు కాదుగదా ! తెలంగాణా వాళ్ళంటే రెండో శ్రేణి ప్రజలు వారి దృష్టిలో.కాని ఆంధ్ర మహానుభావుల విగ్రహాలు కూలితే వారికి ఏడుపు వస్తది, హృదయం క్షోభిస్తది , వాళ్ళ జాతి గౌరవం, వాళ్ళ సంస్కృతి, నాగరికతలు గుర్తుకొస్తవి.

ఇంతటి ప్రాంతీయ దురభిమానము భారత దేశములో ఎక్కడైనా చూడగలమా? ఆదిలాబాద్ జిల్లాలో,బంగ్లా కాందిశీకులు ప్రాంత ప్రజలతో కలిసి పోయారు. తెలంగాణాలో కన్నడిగులు,మరాఠీలు, రాజస్తానీలు జై తెలంగాణా అంటూ, తెలంగాణా ప్రజలతో మమేకమైపోయారు. కాని ఒక్క జాతి, ఒక్క బాస అని అవసరమొచ్చినప్పుడల్లా ఆశాడభూతి వేషాలు వేసే ఈ ఆంధ్ర వలసవాదులు, తెలంగాణా నేలను అమ్ముకొని బ్రతికే వీళ్ళు ఈ ప్రాంతవాసులతో కలవరు.వారి భాషనూ సంస్కృతిని ఈసడిన్చుకుంటారు. వారిపై రోమన్లు,ఇంగ్లిష్ వాళ్ళు, స్పానిష్ వాళ్ళ వలె దాష్టీకం చేస్తారు. అధికార మదంతో ‘తానాశాహి’ చలాయిస్తారు.


ఎందుకిట్లా జరుగుతుంది ? ఒక్క జాతి , ఒక్క భాష, ఒక్క సంస్కృతి ప్రసాదించే స్నేహార్ద్ర , సౌభ్రాత్రుత్వాలే మయినాయి. ఒక్క జాతి ప్రజల మధ్య, ఎందుకింత అసహనం, వివక్ష, కక్ష. అసలు ఆంధ్రులు, తెలంగానీ యులు ఒక్క జాతియేనా? వీళ్ళది ఒక్కటే భాషయేనా ? వీరిది ఒక్కటే సంస్కృతి యా? ఏమో ! చరిత్ర తిరగ వేచి చూస్తే ,మరియు ఈ సమకాలీన పరిస్థితులు విశ్లేషిస్తే అలా కాదనిపిస్తుంది. అసలు ఆంధ్ర, తెలుగు పదాలు కూడా ఒక్కటేనా అనే అనుమానం కలుగుతుంది. ఇవి ఒకదానికొకటి పర్యాయ పదాలా? ఆంధ్ర అనేది తెలుగుకు కాని, తెలుగు అనేది ఆంధ్రకు కాని ఎలా పర్యాయం చెందింది, అనేది మిలియన్ డాలర్ ప్రశ్న? తెలంగాణా భూమిపుత్రులు, సర్వ సాధారణంగా, ఎంత దరిద్రమున్నా తాత, తండ్రుల ఊరు వదలరు. ఎన్ని ఏండ్లు ఏ దేశ, విదేశాలకెల్లినా, తిరిగి వాళ్ళ ఊరు చేరుకుంటారు. ఎక్కడికెళ్ళినా ఆ జనంతో కలుస్తారు, వారి భాష నేరుస్తారు,వారి సంస్కృతిలో పాలుపంచుకుంటారు,కష్టపడి పనిచేస్తారు, తమ దేదో తాము తీసు
కుంటారు , కుదరక పోతే మాత్రం రామ్ రామ్ అంటారు, తిన్నింటి వాసాలు మాత్రం లెక్క పెట్టరు. వాళ్ళ దగ్గరకు ఎవరు వచ్చినా, కలుపుకుంటారు,ఆదరిస్తారు, అన్నదమ్ముల్లాగా కలిసి ఉంటారు. మరి మన ఆంధ్ర వలసవాదులకు ఎందుకో గాని, పని వుంటే తప్ప పరుల పొడగిట్టదు. ఎక్కడ పచ్చగుంటే అక్కడికి పరుగెత్తుదమంటారు.పచ్చగున్న పరాయి ప్రాంతమే బాగుందంటారు,రెండు చోట్లా మనదేనంటారు. ఆ ప్రాంత ప్రజల భాష నేర్వరు, వాళ్ళతో నన్నంటుకోకు అన్నట్లు ఉంటారు. కొంచెం సంఖ్య ఎక్కువైతే ‘ఆంధ్ర ఘేట్టోలు’ ఏర్పాటు చేసుకుంటారు.

అక్కడికి ఎవ్వరిని రానీయరు. అందితే జుట్టంటారు, అందకపోతే కాల్లంటారు. కష్టం కంటే మతలబుకు ఎక్కువ పని పెడతారు.అధికారం కొరకు అమిత యావ పడుతుంటారు. అధికారం చేత చిక్కితే ఇతరులను అణగ దొక్కుతరు.
ఆంధ్రులు,తెలంగాణా వాళ్ళు ఒక్కటే జాతైతే ఎందుకింత వైవిధ్యం? ఎందు కింత వైరుధ్య మైన ద్వంద్వ ప్రవృత్తి? దీనికి ఇదమిద్దమైన సమాధానం ఎక్కడా చూడలేదు. అయితే కొన్ని పౌరాణిక, చారిత్రక వ్యాఖ్యానాలు అక్కడక్కడ లభ్యమౌతున్నయి. వాటి ఆధారంగా కొందరు పండితులు తెలుగు భాష మీద చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యానాలను బట్టి చూస్తే,


‘ఆంధ్ర’ అనే ఒక తెగ భారతదేశం లోని ఒక ప్రాంతం నుండి కొన్ని కారణాంతరాలవల్ల వెలివేయబడి దేశమంతా తిరుగుతూ వచ్చి,గోదావరి, కృష్ణ పరీవాహిక ప్రాంతాలైన ‘త్రిలింగ’ దేశం లో వలస నేర్పరుచుకున్నారు . వారి భాష పేరు ‘దేశి’, ప్రాంతీయ తెగల భాష ‘తెలుగు’ .కాలక్రమేనా ప్రాంతీయ తెగల పై ఆధిపత్యం సంపాదించడానికి, ఆనాటి ‘linguafranca’ అయిన సంస్కృతానికి ,ప్రాకృతం, దేశి , తెలుగు భాషలను కలిపి వారి తెగ పేరు మీదుగా ‘ఆంధ్ర’ భాషను నిర్మించుకొన్నారు. ఈ విధంగా సంస్కృత ప్రాబల్యంతో , ప్రాంతీయ తెలుగు భాషను అణచడానికి ,ప్రాంతీయ ప్రజల సంస్కృతి పై అధిపత్యానికి పునాదులు వేశారని చెప్పుకోవచ్చును . అది నిరంతరంగా ఇప్పటివరకు అప్రతిహతంగా కొనసాగుతూనే ఉంది . దాని ప్రభావమే నేడు ఆంధ్ర , తెలంగాణా ప్రాంతాల మధ్య సాంస్కృతిక అగాధం. వారసత్వం గా వచ్చిన ఆ వలసతత్వము,సామ్రాజ్యవాధము,భాషా సంస్కృతుల దాష్టీకము, ఆంధ్రులలో ఈనాటికి కొట్టవచ్చినట్లు కనపడుతున్నాయి. దానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా ,తెలంగాణ ప్రజలలో వారి వారసత్వపు భూమిని అంటిపెట్టుకొని ఉండే తత్వం, పుట్టిన మట్టిలోంచి వెలువడిన సువాసనలతో కూడుకొన్న సాంస్కృతిక అస్తిత్వం, అరమరికలులేని కలుపుగోలుతనము ఇప్పటికి కనిపిస్తూనే ఉన్నాయి.

ఆ విధంగా నిజమైన తెలుగు భాష, తెలుగు సంస్కృతి ఎవరిదో అంచనా వేసుకోవచ్చు . ఈ సాంస్కృతిక వైరుధ్యానికి కారణం కూడా తెలుసుకోవచ్చు.ఇదేనా ఈ సాంస్కృతిక అగాథానికి కారణం అంటే, తెలిసిన చరిత్రను నేటి పరిణామాలను బేరీజు వేసి చూసుకుంటే ఇదే నిజం కావచ్చని అనిపిస్తుంది.

అది నిజమైనా కాకపోయినా, కారణ మేదైనా ఆంధ్రులకు, తెలంగానీయులకు భాషా, సంస్కృతుల విషయం లో సయోధ్య లేదనేది నిర్వివాదాంశము.ఈ సయోధ్య ఇకముందు వచ్చే అవకాశము కూడా తక్కువ.అది అవసరమో లేదో కూడా తెలియడము లేదు .రెండు వర్గాల ప్రజల మధ్య అగాధం పెరుగుతూ పోతుంది. మనం ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో ఉన్నాము .ఏ సూడాన్, బురుండి, రువాండా లాంటి ఆటవిక దేశాల్లో లేము.మన తెగల మధ్య పోరు నాగరికంగా తేల్చుకోవచ్చు. ఎవరి రాష్ట్రం వాళ్ళు ఏర్పాటు చేసుకోవచ్చు. లేదంటే ఈ సామ్రాజ్యవాద పోకడలు, సాంస్కృతిక ఆధిపత్యం ఇలాగే కొనసాగితే అక్కడ జరిగిన చరిత్రలు ఇక్కడ కూడా పునరావృత్తం కావచ్చు.

Telangana wants a state, not statues again : Kavitha

It comes as a shock to us that the government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to release Rs 78 lakh to reinstall the statues on Tank Bund in Hyderabad that were demolished on March 10. This amounts to nothing less than provoking the people of Telangana even more.

What happened last week on Thursday was an expression of people’s anguish. No political leaders or cultural troupes were allowed on Tank Bund by the police. As a result there was no one to guide the emotionally surcharged crowd.

What happened thereafter was unfortunate and we feel for it. But then one also needs to remember that the Tank Bund is in Hyderabad and therefore in the heart of Telangana and when the people of the region find 26 of the 33 statues are of people from the other two regions, it does make them angry.

We want the government to maintain status quo for the next couple of months at least. The government should think from the point of view of the people and this includes the people of Telangana also, not just people from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. Do not make the issue bigger. When there has been a status quo maintained over the issue of Telangana for more than a year now, what is the big hurry in rushing to reinstall the statues on Tank Bund? It will only breed more negativity particularly if the same statues are reinstalled. I will myself oppose it as an individual.

If at all the government wants to install statues, then it needs to include those of Telangana heroes as well. Like freedom fighter and poet Kaloji Narayana Rao. Like Komaram Bheem.

Incidentally, the government order to install a statue of Komaram Bheem was issued when K Rosaiah was chief minister. I am given to understand that the government decreed that the funds should come from the kitty of the tribal welfare department. As if Komaram Bheem was only a tribal leader.

Then how did the government now release Rs 78 lakh? Incidentally, when this decision to reinstall the statues was taken in the state assembly, no MLA from Telangana was present in the House.

We believe that it was a well-thought out strategy to allow Telangana activists on to Tank Bund, let the law and order situation to slip out of hand to show that the Telangana movement is not a peaceful movement. People’s emotions were running high and the government took advantage of it.

మెదక్‌, ‌:ప్రత్యేక తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటును వెంటనే చేపట్టాలని డిమాండ్‌ చేస్తు ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తులు ఆత్మత్యాగానికి పాల్పడిన సంఘటన మెదక్‌ డివిజన్‌ లో మంగళవారం వెలుగుచూశాయి. మెదక్‌ మండలం వాడి గ్రామానికి చెందిన ఈర్ల జైపాల్‌రెడ్డి(50) మెదక్‌ పట్టణంలోని పిల్లల పార్కులో ఉరివే సుకొని ఆత్మహత్యకు పాల్పడ్డాడు. మృతుడు తెలంగాణ కోసం తాను ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకుంటున్నట్లు లేఖ రాసి జేబులో దాచుకొని ఆత్మహత్యకు పాల్పడాడు. కాంగ్రెస్‌ ఎంపి, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు చిత్తశుద్దితో వ్యవహరించి తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటుకు పోరాడాలని డిమాండ్‌ చేశాడు. గతంలో కాంగ్రెస్‌ పార్టీ తెలంగాణ కోసం పోరాడి పదవులకు అమ్ముడుపోయి ఉద్యమాన్ని తాకట్టుపెట్టారని లేఖలో పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుత నాయకులు పదవులకు అమ్ముడుపోకుండా తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటు కోసం ఉద్యమించాలని సూచించారు. తన ఆత్మహత్యతో ప్రభుత్వం స్పందించి తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటుకు కృషి చేయాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశాడు.

యువకుడి ఆత్మహత్య
ప్రత్యేక రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటు కోసం కొనసాగుతున్న ఉద్యమాల్లో చురుకుగా పాల్గొన్ని రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటులో కొనసాగుతున్న జాప్యానికి ఆవేదన చెందిన డిగ్రీ విద్యార్థి ప్రవీణ్‌గౌడ్‌(20) ఉరివేసుకొని ఆత్మహత్యకు పాల్పడాడు. ప్రవీణ్‌గౌడ్‌ గతంలో చేపట్టిన తెలంగాణ ఆందోళన కార్యక్రమాలల్లో చురుకుగా పాల్గొన్ని సెల్‌టవరెక్కి ఆత్మహత్యకు యత్నించాడు. తీవ్ర మనస్తాపానికి గురైన ఆయన రామాయంపేట మండలం ఝాన్సీలింగాపూర్‌లో మంగళవారం ఉరివేసుకొని ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్నాడు.

మెదక్‌ నియోజకవర్గంలో తెలంగాణ కోసం ఆత్మర్పణాలు చేసుకున్న వారికి మెదక్‌ ఎంపి విజయశాంతి ఫ్రగాఢ సంతాపం తెలిపారు. కాంగ్రేస్‌ పార్టీకి చిత్తశుద్ది లేకపోవడంతోనే తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతంలో బలిదానాల పరంపర కొనసాగుతుందన్నారు. కేంద్ర, రాష్ర్ట ప్రభుత్వాలు వెంటనే స్పందించి తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటుకు కృషి చేయాలన్నారు. తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటుకు పోరాడాలి తప్ప ఆత్మహత్యలకు పాల్పడవద్దని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. గత వారం రోజులుగా తీవ్ర అస్వస్థతతో ఉన్నందునే తాను పర్యటించలేకపోతున్నానన్నారు.

Cases filed against KCR, KTR, Harish Rao, Kodandaram and others

The Hyderabad Police have registered 16 cases against pro-Telangana activists, including TRS leaders K Chandrasekhar Rao, Harish Rao, KTR and others in connection with the violence during the ‘Million March’ yesterday. KCR, Harish Rao and Kodandaram were booked under section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.

Cases for attempt to murder have been filed against unnamed persons.

The charges include desecration and demolition of statues of eminent Telugu personalities, attack on the police and media personnel, among other things, he said.

Commenting on the registration of cases, TRS MLA T Harish Rao said that it was done to please the Chief Minister, who hails from non-Telangana region. He added that police had taken into custody scores of people who had nothing to with the ‘million march’.

TRS leaders today met police officials and demanded that the Telangana supporters, who were arrested, be produced in court.

We don’t need statues on Tank Bund : Owaisi

Blasting at the ruling congress party in assembly over deferring the decision on Telangana, Akbaruddin Owaisi said “If we are discussing this (tank bund statues) issue, we should also discuss the unjust caused to Telangana and the suicides in Telangana.”
“Why are Telangana legislators not in house? If they are out Telangana people are out.” he added. He also said that there is no need to erect the statues again on the Tank Bund and that the Hussain Sagar is beautiful as is.
